ive driven the 6speed, but not the auto. I'm using an automatic transmission in my swap, just wanted to know if it would feel slower than if i put in a 6speed

My bro's bolt on '98 Z28 feels like it could tear my '98 T/A(stalled auto) to pieces when I'm riding with him. But I put a few cars on him every time we race from pretty much any speed. My girlfriends 6-speed GTO also feels like it could destroy my car but I beat it worse than I do my bro's Z.

My GTO stock felt like it would destroy my 99Z28 that was a yank 4000 stall auto. M6 feels so much more powerful.

You know I just gotta say your wrong, ever driven an Fbody with a TH-400 in it, don't think so or you'd know better and he didn't specify it was a 4L60E either. A TH-400 and N20 will knock the fillings out of your teeth, 6 speed doesn't even get close.

Thats not what I was saying at all. What I am saying is take to equally powered cars and go drive them around on the street, on M6 one A4 and see what you think. Of course a built TH-400 Fbody with sticky tires and N20 is gunna feel faster on the jump, but I am talking purely street cars.

and i gotta say youre wrong. and its youre (like you are) not your. got grade school?
thats like comparing apples to oranges. now compare a fully built nitrous auto to a fully built nitrous six speed. a th-400 on gas may knock you fillings loose but an 6000 rpm clutch dump with sticky tires in a built car on spray will break your neck.

Ah no, actually it's "you're" as in you are and I didn't know I was being graded on my grammar. Comin outta the hole at 4000RPM, I think it hits harder than a 6 speed.

a 6 speed on a roll punch is faster but the auto et's at a track quicker.

I have had both (stock though) and I have to say that under NORMAL driving an M6 feels slower only because you are letting off the gas switching gears...etc...

While an A4 feels quicker just because you don't have any lag between gears.Again during NORMAL driving...

Now when mashing the gas down and slamming through the gears...the M6 feels much quicker.Again during WOT.

They both have good and bad points, depends on the situation I guess...

There are days when I wish I had an A4 again but then again there are days that I thank GOD I have an M6....Much more of a "Driver's" feel...Feels more like a muscle car when you row through the gears on an M6.

Just my opinion.

But...this is an old argument.So.....

I've had both the M6 and the TH400. The TH400 definitely leaves harder out of the hole. But the M6 feels faster from a roll. That doesn't mean it is faster, it just feels like it.

2.73s in a 400+ hp car with a 3600ish stall felt weak to me... My friend's manual DIESEL jetta feels quicker lol

Auto FTW??

I'm biased tho. I've driven both types of F-Body's and really perfer the auto, more out of simplicity really. Oh well, shoot me if you wanna!
