Default Do the Astros only have 1 relief pitcher?

Phil Garner is a moron. The Astros offense does a great job coming from behind and building a 9-4 lead, and Garner leaves Sampson in the game until he gives up 14 hits. Then he leaves Qualls in the game until he lets both inherited runners score, then let's 3 of his own score. Hey Garner, how about pulling a pitcher out before he digs himself a defecit? IDIOT.

I question a lot of Garner’s decisions, especially those having to do with “leaving a player in there to build up his confidence, or get out of a jam on his own”.
I love how Garner decides to use the ever so hot, afraid to swing at a pitch, anemic .213 batting fruitcake of a player Margo Inksburg as the DH. That just makes perfect sense both on paper and in the real world…that is…if you’re on crack.

You know, the old theory that if you team isnt in the hunt then you can claim that they are in a "rebuilding process." I think thats a man rule or something.

I don't understand why he left Qualls in there either, but you have to think theres no way they're going to score 5 runs in 1 inning when all they've been hitting all game were singles. I'm sure Garner thought the same way. They were bound to bounce into a double play... but they just never did.

I don't know why Borkosky or Miller were pitching in the 9th inning of a tie game. THAT is just silly when you have Lidge, Wheeler, and White sitting in the bullpen.

I hear ya. If asked, Garner would probably reply, “Well, Dave and Trevor hadn’t pitched in a while, so they needed to get some work in.”
Oh really, Garner? Against arguably the best team in the AL? Way to go, slick.

I caught it, but it was rather silly... a lot of teams would love to have Qualls, Wheeler, and Lidge for the 7, 8, 9 innings.

Ahh, you gotta love that bullpen. Come in and walk 2 runs in and give up a 3 run shot. Good job.

When you walk in 1 run, isn't that an idea that the pitcher doesn't have his best stuff that day? WHY LET HIM CONTINUE PITCHING??? I don't care if you're "saving" Qualls for the 7th inning, the 7th inning won't mean much if you give up 4 runs in the 6th!
