Yeah man I love Texas but the weather here really does suck. In DFW (Dallas-FtWorth) Usually may snow a week out of the year and summer July and August are unbearable hot and humid. Houston is more humid than Dallas but Dallas gets higher temp.. I would rather take my chances with a earthquake than tornado though so April and May we get tornadoes. One year it might snow New Years Eve the next you are outside in shorts and t-shirts. Very unpredictable weather.

I would recommend ft. worth highly because you are very near anything you can imagine(malls, restaurants, girls, meets, etc.) yet you are still a little secluded from the city. In many places you can shoot guns in your yard and yet still be able to get in your car and drive 20mins to a car meet. I love Texas and wouldnt live anywhere else, just DONT GO TO AUSTIN!!! Pick DFW or Houston and youll be fine bro. Btw if you come to DFW hit me up with a pm and we'll hang.

If you're coming from Cali, you'll like Dallas better than Ft. Worth or Houston. I'm from Houston and love it, but live in Dallas now and it's cool too. Ft. Worth is just a mini Houston. Really don't think you could go wrong.

Good luck!

I have lived in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston. I have liked all three cities. Each has there ups and downs. I grew up in Dallas. Went to school at TCU in Fort Worth. I work in Houston. Dallas is nice size city with many things to do. Fort Worth is more a smaller town feel. Houston is huge. You can't go wrong. its TEXAS.

dallas is better than houston, austin is 2.5 hours-3.5 away from here as well if you drive like me and it has better places to hang out than houston or ft.worth, ft.worth imo is more like a small country place, and there is more gang activity in ft.worth than in dfw period...i like the area where im at so ill recommend it--------LAS COLINAS (IRVING) VALLEY RANCH AREA....NICE!

nothing to much just from the weekends i go up there to visit my brother traffic sucks. They didn't expand the hwy's as fast as people were moving in. I like it i just couldn't live there. Nice place just Houston has everything and then some, Austin just feels to small for me. good place to party.

Closer to 3.5 hours away.

If you want to know what Dallas is like, go rent the DVD from the old TV series Dallas. Or watch a few episodes of King of the Hill.... that show describes Dallas better than anything I have ever seen. If you think it's funny AND fake, you would be wrong.
