Alright guys (and girls) this has been plaquing me for awhile now. Why is it that we as F-body members can never host a large, consistent, weekly meet? Most of my frustration is derived from watching and participating in car meets with my buddies over at DFWstangs. Every weds and friday there is generally enough cars to hang out and have a good time without getting bored in a hour. So what is it that is different with F-body members? Me personally I think there are way to many people trying to start meets at several different locations on the same night. For example someone may post lets meet in Plano Tues @ 7pm, but only to be followed by 3 other post with meets in the same night @ three completely seperate locations. Leaving guys like me making road trips the whole night only to find two or three cars meeting.

The solution:

Suggestions for two nights a week where everyone can meet, but being fair as far as the drive there. I know it sucks driving 45 mins home just to attend a meet. Remember we are trying to get mainly F-bodys to attend, but all is welcome. My opinions:

Friday or Sat somewhere:

Tues:
Hooters in Plano - Plano Pkwy and N 75. 7pm - till atleast 10pm. Great Food!
Bone Daddys - Richardson - Spring Valley and S 75. (same time)

Thurs:
Kellers Burgers - Northwest Hwy and Abrams - 7pm - I think this place has some of the best burgers in Dallas.
Somewhere in Addision - not sure where since Dukes parking lot has alot of parking restriction.

Any and all suggestions are welcome!

 

i like kellers but on thursday??? im sure u know of other "meets" on tues. a thurs. and u know Sat. why not friday or something like that everyone should have gotten payed theyll have a bit more fun and time....and not this "well i have to go i got to wake up early i have to work" unless they really work on the weekends....or have a pt job im down for bone daddys and kellers on friday.... just my .02 cents

 

Thurs at Kellers sounds good to me. Also I like being able to help keep that place in business, it's been around for ages. My grandmother use to go there and still does when she visits town.

 

why nothin on saturdays or somethin? i like to cruise and play but cant do it during the week due to the distance. me and a few friends would like to come.
earlier this year they were settin up a big cruise to austin. somethin like that would be cool too.

 

sup bruiser? i normally hit up winghouse monday sometimes...wed at kellers and friday off 190 for the cobra meet and then sat at kellers again...


i hear the arlington meets or w.e are good on wed or thurs? not sure

 

they were on weds. but to many ricers ruined the meet now the cops show up around 10 they race down the service road in front of the meet.... but anyways..... Well theres other meets on tuesdays and thursdays for me...and if you want to konw the meets let me know ill let you know the whole schedule and the only days i dont do anything is mondays and fridays...

 

So hows Saturday somewhere. Daniel your right the Plano Coit and 190 meet is cool, but mainly for the Stangs. I looking for something F-body based where everyone can attend and hang out?

 

Also i'm always down for a cruise. Austin would be cool, but I think alot of guys are getting ready for a fall cruise somewhere. Wouldn't wanna cause any conflict.

 

lol wednesday meet does have a ricer problem they are what caused us to get kicked out last time. i like wednesday cause thursdays and fridays are my day off. lets see how this turns out though.

To be honest, and not sarcastic, I dont think that many people care. I dont, and most people I know dont. This is also a really busy time of year for people and work. So they have their minds on stuff aside from cars.

do any of you DFW guys deer hunt? we should try to get something setup for a hunting weekend or something.

 

I wouldn't mind hitting up the meets if I knew people with F Bodies, but since I don't really have many buddies with F Bods it's kinda hard for me to just head up there on my own. I'll feel like a loser lol

 

i do...trying to find a good dove place before seasons over for me and my dad...deer leases are too expensive...our last place was a 7 hr drive and was 1000 a season plus gas each trip and food ect...

 

ehh, I have a few places to hunt in the Jack and Wise county areas. My grandmother owns land up in Arkansas that I would love to scout and hunt one day if she'll ever tell me where exactly it is (its been 10+ years since I've been there)

This is one of the reason I started this thread. I feel there are still alot of F-body's out there still willing to put together a nice weekly meet. For example you live in Mesquite and I live in Garland along with Daniel from above. Thats now 3 people with F-body's willing to cruise almost anytime.

Alot of people have suggested Sat? Where? Also how about a rolling meet? Each week a different spot. Keeping the ricers always guess.

 

Lets just crash the plano meet! hahaha

 

Fri and sat meets fail because people go out and do stuff with non car friends/gf's/significant others. Or actually go to the track instead of just bs'ning about what a car might run and actually go run it.
