Default Los Cucos - Yuck!!

Just wanted to mention this in case any of you all ate at Los Cucos - this one located off of 290 near Jones Rd...

I and some friends went to eat there for lunch the other day and decided to sit out on the patio area....nice weather and good food....

After we were done one of the guys noticed something that made him sick to his stomach....we watched in awe as we noticed all the waitstaff were collecting the chip bowls off of tables where people were finished eating and started to stack them near the chip storage area....here we are thinking they are gonna throw them in the trash when in reality they started to put the chips BACK INTO the chip bin!!!

I could not believe they were doing this! Talk about cross contamination!!! We decided to pour salsa onto our chip bowls to make sure they were not going to be put back in.....I just can't believe this is there policy....how much does some leftover chips cost??? Can't be much compared to what might happen if a lot of people get sick.....

Makes me wonder if this is standard practice at any other Mexican restaurant?????
Needless to say we are never going back there again.....

Sad to say that it is not an uncommon practice.... I had a cousin that worked at a mexican restaurant and refused to do that and was fired for it.

Want to really be grossed out ? Just think about the things you don't see....

I worked at gringos waiting/bartending for a few years back in the day and i can honestly say that place is super super clean, the pearland location. Now I worked at a steakhouse for a little bit and I saw them drop steaks on the dirty *** tile floor, throw them back on teh grill and put them back on the plate...lol.

Some from-unda cheese.

In all seriousness, I've eaten at the Los Cucos a few times and the food was always really good. Sucks to hear they're doing that.

There's a saying that there are two things you never want to see in life. The kitchen of your favorite restaurant and your grandparents having sex.

What ever happened to fresh chips anyways? I remember Ninfas and Molinas used to serve freshly made chips, I dont know if they still do though.

LOL @ you if you think that is good mexican food. They are OK, probably in the second tier of mexican food restaurants.
