Default Need help...I think this guy is a scammer

Well some guy over the net has been talking to me about buying my car. The emails have been kinda shaky to me and just seems like a scammer. He claims to be sending a money order out for some odd amount and im suppose to deduct 1800.00 to give to the delivery people or some ****? I heard fake money orders are going around some im kind of skeptical. The first time he emailed me he said he was a doctor in the UK and said nothing about living in the US. He asked for all my info including my phone number which I gave to him. He gave me his address which is some apt up in Vermont. I have no way to tell yet if he is a scammer and its been driving me crazy. I got some info off his email which hasnt led me to much yet. Please see if you guys can figure something out. Do you think its a scam? Heres the info on the bottom of his email...

I did a search on scammers and it was saying that scammers will get all the info from you and then they will ask for a phone number. What good is a phone number to them if its a scammer?

Yeah thats what I been thinking. I dont want to scare the guy off yet. He said the cashiers check should be here tuesday. Pretty much what the scammers do is they make fake cashiers checks and then they send them to people and the banks will cash them regardless and once the check bounces 2 weeks later they hold the person who cashed the check accountable for the whole amount that was cashed. Its also pretty simple to see if its a fake just by calling the routing number or by looking on the end to see if its got the little nipples were the stub was tore off.. It all makes sense to me how it works I just dont know why he would of gave me that much information if it was a fake. Maybe he wants to go to jail who knows.

because he is overseas and customs has to take care of it and 99.9% of the time if its outside the us they wont get caught. I usually reply to all of those guys and say go **** yourself and they never send another email, anything that was legit, they would atleast reply to you.

If he sends you the check thru US mail and the check is a fraud, it's mail fraud and you should report it to your local US Post Office. If he sends the check and it does not clear, you don't have to worry about sending the car and being "ripped off".
Come on man...think about it.

oh I know better then to give somebody my car before a check clears. I just thought it would be interesting to show you guys and wanted to hear what yall thought to make sure I wasnt the only one thinking it was a scam. I actually think its funny because you would have to be a complete retard to fall for a fake printed out cashiers check. Karma will get them if the laws dont. Take it from me karma does work, everytime ive done something illegal in life, if I got away with it, it seemed like I was in jail the next weekend for something stupid. Stopped doing bad things and bad things stopped happening. Its so freakin wierd but it bites me in the *** everytime

No this actually happened to me awhile back ... The bank said it went through fine .. everything cleared .. only 3 weeks later .. it came back ... it was on me i still blame Bank of America for saying "yea it cleared" and sticking me with a 1500 bill and shut down an account i had had with them for 4 yrs for passing fraudulant checks .. nice 1 --- the govt really needs to fix this BS quick ... but as i said call Customs this AM .. thats the only way we can catch these *******
