welp... might be buying a 2001 z71 w/9in lift...
Went to a car dealership yesterday. They had a Gold/pewter debadged z71 in the front. 82k miles. Clean overall The top part got some dings in it somehow. but nothing a bed cover wouldnt cover. The truck "had" manual windows/cloth seats, but the prev owner changed it to power windows (doesnt look stock tho) and put leather seats in. The front leather seats arent bench seats like they come stock with. So there is a gap in between the drivers/passenger, you can tell they put a center console in there that isnt "for" the truck. I'd prob just take it out. it has a 9in lift. 36in tires. Wheels were prob ~20s. Anyways. He was able to get me approved for a loan at state farm bank WITH OUT having to provide proof of income. Is this how state farm bank is? they just go by your credit score? oh , and the guy said he'd take 13.8k for it, I tried talking him down and then he came back with 13.5k . it would have to come down to about 12k for me to get it. especially w gas how it is.

ya., the dealer said the prev owner was a marine that was moving out to cali and figured he didnt need the truck. The trucks pretty damn clean/runs smooth etc. Also. I dont mind the $75 tank. It just means that it holds more gas, its not like the gas prices go up(I here my roommate complain about that all the time... i dont see waht the big deal is). and the MPGs is something im worrying about. My roommates lifted 04 fx4 always says 12.4mpg when hes on the highwya. sucks *****.

Buddy of mine just traded his off, because the upgrades he did, then beat the truck up,
Truck was worn, he cleaned it up, made it look great, and got rid of it..
Always talking about the poor person who buys it after him.
Not sure for what will happen with it, but he beat it up good.
I would be careful buying a truck that looks like that..
Or check the lift on it.... Body lift will destroy the car. IMO.
But I had a body lift on my 95, only few inches, but that did a number to my truck.
But I do like the way the truck looks.....

I have gotten approved for fbodys. but havent been able to supply proof of income. the dealer said that state farm doesnt require proof of income. so worse comes to worse, I'll just try to get an fbody through state farm bank

well. I'd have an fbody in my driveway right now if I could have gotten a loan for it. So if state farm allows me to get a diff car without proof of income. It opens up the window.

i definitely wouldn't buy a pieced together truck like that unless it was real cheap and just being used for a playtoy. IMO that truck isn't worth more than 11k if that. if it was a 2500HD, itd be a bit of a different story but it aint! be prepared for some issues, most likely starting with the tranny

ya. My friends and I were talking about how it was pieced together too.. makes me think twice. The dealer said that its worth more then blue book bc of the lift and all the "customized" work LOL.. I would rather it just hvae the lift with manualwindows/cloth seats. Guess I'll pass on it and talk to state farm about getting a loan for an fbody. Mods feel free to lock/delete.

I am a GM fan, but those size tires and 1/2 ton IFS is asking for trouble unless he had a ton of $$$ put into the front axle/steering (which I highly doubt). Run from this truck. He sold it for a reason. 10-12 mpg would be highway on a good day. City would be ugly mileage. Plus if the interior is pieced together, I would give them maybe half of what they want for it.
