Thats a nice truck. I really like the z71 pkgs on the HD trucks. Ive driven a few Dmax's now......some stock some turned up, and I have to say they are pretty sweet! When I start looking for a new truck, it will have a Dmax. Nineball, have any preliminary fuel mileage reports?

I really like my truck. And powertrain wise they are almost the same. Im not balling as much as you. I needed to save the $$. I still have a Impy build in progress.

My Dad has the same truck, only different is his is a GMC and white. Everything else is the same, and it is super nice. Great buy! It runs pretty good to for being stock. It surprised me. I want to by him a programmer for Christmas but he read that it bad on the trannys. I haven't don't any reading on them so I don't know.

Good luck fitting a nice size tire on there. I put some 20's on a customers truck like that and it seemed like every tire we triednrubbed. That's the only thing I didn't like about thing I don't like about other than that they're f'n bad ***

What ruined me was the two diesel trucks before the Caddy, 400 rwhp and 800 ft-lbs was fun in a truck.
I learned why the exhaust tip looks like that. It has to do with the ultra high temps during the particulate burnoff period. Something like 900 F exhaust temps. The thing is a venturi and sucks in cooler air from the outside so that the final exhaust temp at the outlet isn't scorching. Safety thing.

I wasn't unsatisfied with the Escalade. That truck was super nice and quick enough for an average person. I'm not an average person, I like performance and I get bored quickly. The Escalade had 13K miles on it, I drove it quite a bit in 7 months.

Ken, it is a shortbed. It 'looks' longer because you are probably used to seeing the 1/2-ton crewcab trucks that use a mini bed. The bed on this one is the same length as the 'normal' shortbed, like on my '07 GMC. GM uses three different bed lengths on the new body style trucks.
I have an '07 GMC. Stock vs Stock, the GMC looks better. But, the Chevy has way more parts to customize with and looks more modern/pissed off when it is customized. I also like how the Chevy's fender creases are more dramatic from the side compared to the GMC.
Badass truck, no doubt. Did you ever consider the GMC? I think the front end looks better stock to stock.
