My '03 Dually gets 14mpg...I have a Predator tuner for it & drive it pretty hard. Gotta love diesel power.

Yeah, I'm lurking around again, even took the T/A out this weekend & blew all the cobwebs out of the N2O lines....just need to get that fuel pump on so I can up the shot Also going to do some sort of a EFI motor swap into my old K5 Blazer to make a more reliable trail rig. Got a line on a motor & tranny with ECM, wires & everything but the AC compressor....think I may go with it, but was considering an LSx swap too if I could find a good deal on a complete pull with ECM & wires...but haven't found one. Kicking myself for passing up that one I asked you about several months back.

I don't know Tony. These new trucks have more vertical clearance but not as much front to rear. I know alot of the half ton guys are having a hard time fitting 33's even with 6" of lift without rubbing.

With the 2500, it may be possible, will probably have to choose your wheel size and backspacing wisely.

Modsquad, look man, you obviously took my reply the wrong way too. You originally stated that you couldn't stand too much bling on a 4X4, and I merely stated that you can do it tastefully without over doing it. I just thought "nor wasn't I talking to you" was a bit rude when I was just trying to show Tony that it can be done right. Again, everyone has their own opinion. I could care less about attention or if anyone is choosing not to talk to me, I'm just giving my 2 cents to Tony. You're right, it's his decision, you gave him your opinion and I gave him mine.

Tony, sorry for getting off topic. A lot of things are misinterpreted with text you read online. As far as the 2WD comment, shove it. I have no need for 4WD. I'm gonna take a stab at it and guess that you don't either...unless you feel you need to switch over when going up the ramps in your parking garage.

Exactly my thinking and what I was trying to tell Mark that you were thinking.

Find a different parking spot and do it right! It's such a big truck, don't go any less than 18". 18" on 33s, 20" with 35s, 22" with 37s, etc.

Your Dodge was clean, simple, etc. and look, you had 20s.

As far as fitting 33s on a stock height truck, I'd think twice about it. If you plan on keeping the stock rims, maybe, but you might have to do some trimming. I can't speak for the new body style, but I know on the previous, the size, width, and backspacing/offset is really important. I can't stress that enough. You may surprise yourself. Just choose the right dimensions on the wheel. The problem is not the rear, it's the front. Sure you could fit 35s on a leveled Chevy 2500, but you can forget about turning it. The problem lies in the front. I have 35s on a 20x10 wheel, with -18mm offset, and I had to do trimming and do 5" of lift in the front (4" spindles, cranked torsion bars 1").

the right formula, leveling kit and 37s? I don't think so. 33s and a leveling kit, 4" and 35s, 6" and 37s.

Yeah, I've read what all the lift companies suggest too.

It all depends on the wheels dude....seen plenty of guys running 37's with stock wheels/stock offsets and size with a leveling kit (on the Ram). I like the "stuffed" look on trucks. Yeah, I won't get the "flex" for off roading...but the only time I use my 4wd is to pull the boat out of the lake. She's a mall crawler

Just for reference.

Revtek leveling kit - 275/60R20 (33" tires on 20" wheels)

Raised front with torsion bars - 285/60R18 (31.5" tires on 18" wheels)

I didn't think the 33's would fit on my HD without rubbing so I went with the 31.5" tall tires.

Tony, he's absolutely right (the right formula). It's all going to be dependent on the wheels. The less offset (number closer to zero or on the plus side), the more it will tuck in, the better clearance you'll have. My wheels/tires stick out and don't have much clearance.

the right formula, I don't do any off-roading, but I don't like the stuffed look. Everyone has their own thing.

Bad Habit Bird, the 285/60/18 is the same or almost the same height is the stock tire. The stock tire is around 30-31" tall.

Oh, almost forgot, check it out Tony:

Your HD looked pretty nice. I'm reading that 285/65-18 will fit on a t-bar levelling. Probably go that route just to be able to park in the garage at work. Here in the Greenspoint area, it isn't wise to park outside

Mine had about 2" of clearance in most garages downtown.

So I'm looking at wheels, and the selection kind of sucks. Too many blingy looking wheels with misc rivets in weird areas, too many clunky lip wheels and busy stuff. I don't like wheels that have grooves and stuff on the lip, I prefer a smooth lip. The psuedo-beadlock look doesn't bother me too much, but I'd prefer not having it.

Hmmm.... very few choices at 18x9

Only one of the rims I posted above has the slots on the lip.

Edit: I forgot you are looking for forged.....

It took me a month or so to find the wheels I wanted on my HD. Keep at it, I'm sure you will find the right ones soon enough.

I ran 315/70 17s (34.3") on my 02 Dmax with a tbar crank. Had to remove a small amount from the bumper and air dam, but they didn't rub. Doubt it would clear our garage.

Marc, those pro-comp forged wheels look great. 8-lugs are only in 17s or 20s though, I'm looking at 18s.

Aaron, the new body style trucks have a little less tire room than the previous gen.

I guess I'm not opposed to 20s if I have to go that route. Check these out, the 8-lug ones called S.O.T.A.

They look good in the pictures, but looking through the trucks they have on the site I don't think they would look right.

These would looks pretty sweet!
