Joe, please understand how much everything you have done is appreciated. I just got off the phone with John's wife and gave her your info. She will be in contact soon with an update to you.
For anyone who would like to express their condolances, or to sign the guest book, here is the link to the online guest book.

I just wanted to take a second to express my thanks to the members of this forum, for their prayers, kind thoughts, and words of comfort to John's family during this time. I specifically want to thank Joe Texan for his actions at the time of this horrible accident.
While this isn't a Viper site, I'd like to also express my thanks to the National Viper Club of America, and to the Houston Area chapter during this time. Everyone was moved by the display of brotherhood by the local Viper Club of America Chapter who took their time to caravan up to John's memorial service and express support for John's family. It was a very thoughtful and moving tribute on the part of his "extended car family".

I'm getting news that the client is okay and stable in the hospital. Apparently the factor was not speeding, but rather John swerved to avoid a drunk driver driving on the wrong side of the road. Any truth to this?

His passenger to the best of my understanding has been released from the hospital. It is also my understanding that he is home (or is in the process of heading home) to be with his family.
I think it is best to avoid any unfounded speculation related to these tragic events. The only thing that is known at this point with any certainty is that John lost control of his vehicle, struck a tree, and was killed. To the best of my understanding there were no other vehicles involved in this incident directly or indirectly. This at its core is simply a very, very tragic accident.
I would ask that any further speculation on this topic please be refrained from in respect to John's family who have visited and viewed these threads.
