Default MTI no longer does F-bodies?

Just called them and I was a bit disappointed to hear MTI has pulled out of doing any F-bods. Just curious as to why?

Good for them. With LS1 F-bodies getting cheaper, they won't have to deal with people spouting "can I get a price on ______" followed with "well I can get it for $__ less on the internet".

Go where the bigger money is. They have to pamper the big spending crowd, but if they can pull it off, it'll be worth it.

I will be putting in a CORVETTE engine. Hardcore stuff.

Makes sense they want to cater to Z06 and Vipers owners.

Money is money, but profit margin is profit. LS1 Parts strike me as running on a fairly thin margin these days. And with younger and younger folks climbing in to dirt cheap LS1 F-bods, they're not going to want to pay the labor rates at MTI. Focus on where the profit margin is. MTI is not and has never been a real "volume" dealer. Though I did buy my first LS1 cam kit (B1) from them.

well for the LS1 F-Body owner's that dont care about paying the price for the parts.... wat the hell. Yes alot of people wouldnt wanna pay the higher prices but then again, someone who doesnt wanna pay the higher prices will most likely do it themselves and know better than to take it to a shop because it will cost you alot more, either that or suck it up and pay. Id say, if you want the extra money coming in, still do F-Body's, but dont make it your priority.

They did the same thing with LT1 cars shortly after LS1's came out, it's no big surprise. And I bet if you walk in there & ask them to put a 427 in your FBody they would do it.
