Default What Texas city has the worst traffic?

Who has the worst traffic?

Austin sucks but I am in it everyday! I have been in Houston in rush hour also. I think SA has the best hwy and road system.

I grew up in Houston and go back on occasion, the traffic there is by far the worst, even the big-D is not as bad. I live in RR now, Austin traffic has nothing on Houston, yeah it can suck, but the traffic here is no where near the suckage of Houston traffic.

I was born and raised in Dallas and now have lived in Houston for almost 3 years. I travel to SA and Austin frequently for work and play and hands down:

HOUSTON TRAFFIC SUCKS!

But to combat this, I live inner loop, my job is 5 mins from my apt, school is 8 mins and all of my friends must live inner loop! The only time I ever see the highways is going to car meets and trips around mexico! HAHAHAHA

San Antonio isn't all that bad. Austin is kinda bad. Houston SUCKS, lol. Never been to DFW to experience it. My friend lives in Deer Park and whenever we would try and head to The Galleria or some place, traffic always gets bad. And it sucks when were in my T/A cause the a/c doesn't work lol. There is a spot on Highway 59 going South where it goes from like 4 lanes to 2. Traffic is always bad there around 5. I'd hate to be caught there with no a/c .

I lived in Houston for most of my life and I've been in Dallas for ~8 years. Houston's traffic is definitely worse than Dallas'. I can't speak for Austin or San Antonio though.

When I lived in Austin people would complain about the traffic there like it was terrible.

With that being said, Houston is five times worse.

From my various visits:

#1 Austin
#2 Houston
#3 DFW
#4 San Antonio

Austin was just never meant to be a "big" city, the highways near downtown simply suck ***. What is with the exits in the MIDDLE of the freeway, instead of on the outside lanes (which look like exits themselves)

Houston. Try driving an M6 at the 610 loop meets Hwy 59 during rush hour. Lord.

Houston. I think there's only one road in that town, and everyone's always on it.

At least in DFW you have a grid to choose from.

Been on I35 in Austin during rush hour, that sucks, but never done much of it. Only been to SA once or twice.

Waco rush minute kinda sucks. Sometimes I have to yield at a certain right turn!

Dallas is bad, but Houston is much worse.

Forbes has Houston in the top 5 cities for worst traffic. Dallas is just behind Houston:

1. Los Angeles, Long Beach, Santa Ana, Calif.

2. San Francisco, Oakland, Calif.

3. Washington, D.C.

4. Atlanta

5. Houston

6. Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, Tex.

7. Chicago.

8. Detroit

9. Riverside, San Bernardino, Calif.

10. Orlando, Fla.

11. San Jose, Calif.

12. San Diego

Houston Traffic by a long shot is the worse, I'll take Dallas traffic anyday of the week over Houston. I think Austin comes in second worst.

I voted for Houston based on volume, but I've been equally frustrated in Austin. That place has simply outgrown it infrastructure.

In Austin, it's mainly just the 1 million terrible drivers there.

There's no doubt about that, every time I go it feels like I see a wreck every 4 miles. I'm scared to drive my car there.
