Does anyone know if taking defensive driving takes the ticket off your record or just lets you escape from paying the fine?
If you are able to take DD, it will wipe it completely from your record as well as giving you a discount on your insurance (in most cases). I'm not totally sure if you will be able to or not because of the Construction zone or not however.

I've actually taken defensive driving to get tickets dismissed in Tarrant Co, Dallas Co. and whatever Hutchins is. Oh yeah Mesquite also although it falls in dallas Co. They really don't care as long as you pay em.
All of these in the same year. I think I took a total of 4 maybe 5 defensive driving classes in one year. I know you shouldn't and they didn't catch it so i'm good.....I hope lol

i say just pay the ticket.. you were the one who got caught, not everyone else. You could get a lawyer and get the ticket taken off, or just pay it and do defensive driving..

On a side note, I got into a hit a pole and run incident over the weekend, I know that this isn't a traffic offense, but let's prettend that I had hit a parked car and I ran but someone got my plates, what would the fine be and the traffic violation. Also let's say I was driving and I got into a hit and run where the other person was able to get my plates, what would the charge be and the fine and is the charge a felony?

I say you just give me your car and that will save you from going down the road I did. I'm 20 and have been pulled over 17 times and recieved 8 citations. I have taken defensive driving 4 times, I could probably teach the class. LOL if its the same over there as it is here you go to the court that it says to on your citation and then ask them if you can take defensive driving and all you will have to pay is the court fee and the 25 bucks for defensive driving.

+1 on the defensive driving ... IMO its still considered a construction zone
