Crazy drive on 288N/45N
Crazy drive on 288N/45N I had the day off today so I was going up to Corvettes of Houston to pick up some parts I ordered a while back.
On the way I was driving 288N, everything was normal, then all the sudden I saw in my rear view a Police car flying off the median, fish tailing, kicking up dust and coming back on the hwy about 200 yards behind me. What looked like a black Jeep SRT8 flew by. He had to be going 100+ and right behind him was 4 police cars chasing. It took me a minute to figure out they were chasing him, and that was about the time I was coming up on 45N exit which they took as well. Damn guy almost hit like 4 cars right in front of me. It was crazy. Anyone hear about any car chases happening today around 10:30am? Looks like he exited I10W. That was the last I saw.
Then on the way back from CofH I was right behind a guy driving a late 70's, early 80's style ford excab pickup. Cruising about 70 his left rear wheel breaks off, he slides sideways, the wheels bouncing and hits 3 different cars, bounces over the median into the HOV lane, bounces off the far HOV median back over to 45S, onto the feeder and hits a 1st floor apartment door. The dude driving the pickup looked freaked out and had a death grip on the steering wheel.
Crazy day to be driving out there. I'm staying home the rest of the day. Just thought I would share. On the bright side, there was a helicopter assisting in the chase and news helicopters off to the side. Maybe I'll make the news or something.

First time I ever drove through Houston, I saw a late 90s crown vic swerve to change lanes real fast, lost it, hit the concrete barrier and barrel rolled. Gotta love it, its survival of the fittest every day here.

Every night and every morning going to and from work I'm always a little extra defensive when I drive. I've seen Houston go from not-so-good drivers to 'wtf were they thinking?' drivers. Especially after getting hit by that drunk driver in '06.
