There isn't anything we can do to change the state of our economy.

Get a better job, get a vehicle that gets better mileage, walk, sell drugs, whatever.

Bitching does nothing in cases like this.

I picked both my cars ,have a decent income, and I DO bitch b/c it is ridiculous. It's not a fault thing either way you look at it, I can't speak for everyone but I know a lot of people would have chosen different cars if the fuel prices were what they are currently. I know I would have.

I laughed heartily.

Also, Its not just gas prices that are going up. Have yall not noticed how much more its costing nowadays just to eat? I spend almost as much a week on food as I do on gas.

Don't let yourselves get fixated on gas prices. The US economy as a whole teetering on the edge of a deep deep hole.

I never liked to drive or travel (by car/truck) much anyways before so its not affecting me there, if I go anywhere further than Austin or Oklahoma City I'm flying... I've always been that way. My parents love to drive all over, however $5 a gallon gas wouldn't even be an afterthought for them, I can't stand rich old people...

Talking out of my *** here but...

Just think, we are occupying Iraq and Afghanistan and pipelines are being laid. Once we get Iran out of the way we will have a wonderful new supply of crude! Then once the middle east runs out of crude we can start tapping stateside reserves and exact our financial revenge on OPEC. It can't just be politicians bowing to the liberals, I'd like to think it is a strategic plan in motion. Am I giving the government too much credit here? Probably.

Outside the simple equation of supply and demand, all this talk about Peak Oil, the devalued / inflating dollar, loss-hedging commodities investors, and speculating investors are all hurting our buying power.

Bottom line, we won't see a drop in price until crude supplies increase (drill Alaska) and/or petrolium alternatives (Ethanol, hydrogen fuel cell, electric, etc.) become widely available.

I think the first signs of change are already visible in moving toward fuel efficient transportation. Motorcycles, Smart Cars, Mini Cooper, Kia Rio, Prius, and so on. This change will continue more aggressively getting away from petrolium as technology improves. Once the alternative technologies are widely available (Example: Chevy Volt) the overall demand of petrolium will fall and with it, the price.

Until then we gotta man up and take it like a soldier. I don't see this oil debacle going away any time soon.

i was thinking about that to, isn't it only .12 C a gallon or some bs? worth the trip if you have as tank you can dump it in. if they don't wana sell it then tell them you will give them a dollar a gallon. i'm sure they would do it then for 100 gallons.

I'm not tired of the bitching cause I bitch about it all the time. I don't see why thats so bad, maybe if more people were pissed off enough we could do something about it.
