Default Problem with a Cadillac!

Anybody on here have any Cadillac repair experiencE?

Got a problem with my cruise control.

It won't engage. On the display it says "Cruise Engaged", but it doesn't properly do anything. Doesn't keep ANY speed. Kind of like it automcailly disengages right after I set it.

Any thoughts?

Yes, I know this is an LS1 Forum, NOT a Cadillac Forum. However, some guys might work at Cadillac service centers as techs.

Thanks!

Ok, figured out what it was.

Popped the hood, found the cruise control module (happened to be right next to the throttle), there was a linkage cable loose and flopping around out of its grommet. Guess what, it was the link cable!

Snapped it back on the grommet, found a place above 35MPH and the damn thing set!

Damn!!

So proud of myself now!

Maybe I Can work for Cadillac Service!

Bunch of idiots, they wouldn't even give me a clue on what to even look for. Didn't even offer to open the hood and just nose around for something "stupid" like that. Guess they just want $110 just to look at it.

Humph!

When you figure out a cheap way to bypass EGR and emissions pump and fix the autoride, let me know. I have a 95 Sedan DeVille that is worthless with those codes.

Cruise Control saves my right foot and the wallet.

Setting the cruise control @ 60 MPH - increases gas mileage from going 70+
NOT going above 60 - Arlington P.D. stays off my *** and don't have to pay the city!

Anyway:

After having a car for 8 years without it and now haven't 2 cars afterward and THIS car's cuise control faulting (but I fixed it), makes it a necessity!

Well,

My regular work hours are 6am-3pm

6am - leave at 5:35am, NO traffic on the way to work
3pm - (when I can), I'm home by 3:30, VERY little traffic.

All times are GMT -5. The time now is 08:41 AM.
