Question Six Speeds Inc. Tranny?

I was considering buying a Stage 4+ T56 from Six Speeds Inc. out of Houston. Has anyone had any dealings good or bad with them and do they do good work?

Their car is too fast to drive on the street!

That is the only negative thing that I can think of about them.

Best people to deal with hands down. I've got about 750 miles on my stage 1 build and it feels great!

We use and deal with them on pretty much a daily basis. Amber is very easy to deal with and their transmissions are second to none!

I went ahead and ordered a tranny this morning but was told that there was an 8-10 week turn around since I do not hava core. I'm gonna have my engine finished by the end of the month, but i've got a lot more work and time to spend on the car so I might not be put out to much by the wait.

Looking at their website, every rebuild kit (stage 1 - stage 4+), is all rated at 700hp/700tq. Why would someone buy a stage 2, 3, or 4 if the stage 1 is rated for the same power? I'm asking because I will be looking at getting my t-56 upgraded soon and don't know why I would get one over the other.

I can't find any good cores for $500 and that's all the credit they will give toward a core. The warranty will be nice but I might go over the horse power rating.

They run 8's with their 6spd. I'm pretty sure they can build a tranny.

Thanks for the offer AGRV8D. I'll start asking around, I know the junkyards around longview and tyler will tear you a new one with what they want to charge. There's one here in town out of a 95 z28 with 150K and they're stuck on $1000.
