From what I've heard generally means I haven't seen it myself and I'm gonna take another persons word for it

FYI, the Guadalupe River Authority and the Army Corps of Engineers will not increase the release rate out of the dam just for recreational purposes on a given weekend. I got this straight from an employee at the Army Corps on Engineers a couple of years ago.

Ryder, go float the Horseshoe one day and then float from Jerry's to Gruene the next day. Both are good floats.

It was my understanding that with the new river trout agreement that they had to keep the waterflow at a certain rate and they try and release the water on high use holidays.

Could be wrong though.

Hmmm the article says that the lake has to stay above 909ft for the water to flow at 200CFS.

Its still only 3 ft low which isnt much compared to other years.

I always stay there. If I remember correctly, its like $25 for one night or something like that. If you're just gonna float, its something like $10 for parking per car the entire day.

Alright guys, I'm going this weekend! Me and my 3 buddies are heading down EARLY Saturday morning to get there in time to get a tube and floating all day Saturday and half Sunday. After Saturday floating, I got tickets to see Kevin Fowler at the River Road Icehouse....and we're staying at a hotel for the night. Thanks everyone for your help...let me know if you're going to be there!

Ryder, so where did you end up staying? Everyone who is there now give us an update on how things are going.

I leave on Sunday and I'm staying for four nights at The Other Place on the Comal.

I've stayed there before. That's a nice hotel in a good location. You also got a helluva good rate on the room.

You would have been kicking yourself if you had camped. Not that camping isn't a lot of fun, but it's just too dang hot in July and there usually no breeze. You'd have been laying there in your own sweat at night.

Nah Miller, I can bet that a portable AC unit would of been dang cheap if he checked out craigslist. Ive camped the last 9 years with a window unit in a tent at a family reunion near Marble Falls. Last year was damn interesting with the flooding though.

bball, with an A/C unit in the tent then that changes everything. No A/C in July then no thanks. Hey, I'd camp in the summer in Texas with A/C in the tent. BTW, Marble Falls is unbelievable! Beautiful up there. Perdenales River area is awesome as well. Anywhere in the Hill Country can't be beat.

Hook'em!
