Default Cleaning o2 sensors??

I know that after a while o2 sensors can get clogged up with carbon and such..might not set a code..but just not work as well..as a result power and gas mileage can suffer...I'm doing the routine changes to the car already like fuel filter, plugs, wires and so on...Later on I plan to buy new ones when they go out but in the mean time to maximize fuel economy and power can I use brake cleaner to clean the o2 sensors to freshen them up? would it help? would it be safer to use MAF electrical cleaner? anyone done this?

I've heard of folks using torches to burn off the junk on them, but I have no experience with doing that.

Wouldnt use brake cleaner, that will just ruin them. If Im correct, running rich will ruin o2 sensors, so smothering it with a fuel like substance could ruin it rite? id use electrical part cleaner.

Or maybe carb cleaner since it's good at breaking down carbon deposits.

THe 1133 and 1153 codes are very common on cars with headers. Swing by the shop Mike and I will delete them. The bosch and other non oem 02 sensors are more prone to set this code than the more expensive A/C Delco sensors.

I can get a friend delete the codes, but that wont fix the problem.

Whatever you do don't use carburetor cleaner on them. Been there, done that. It will ruin them. I can't speak for brake cleaner or electrical contact cleaner. IMO the best thing to do is to first identify what is causing the problem with them and fix it. Then replace the O2's with new ones and be done with it.

I clear them everyday Mike, I need 2 swing by and let you guys figure out if everything is ok with it. It's down about 5 MPG and runs like total crap at the moment so I need to visit the Force and have my Baby taken care of. I hope to be by early next week at the latest I have already talked to Ben earlier this week see you soon.
