Question Backyard buddy auto lift

I’ll be purchasing a four post auto lift in the near future and was hoping some of you guys could help me out. I’ve researched some of the lifts I’ve seen on this board but I haven’t heard anybody talk about the Backyard Buddy. I know it’s a bit pricy (around $4000) but looks very well built and possibly safer then some of the other models on the market. Does anyone have any experience or info on this lift?

Thanks guys,

I considered the back yard buddy but was not happy with it, and price wasn't the reason. I don't like the way they do their locking system, and I'm not happy with their safety features.

I ended up going with a lift from Gregsmithequipment.com and picked it up myself in Wilmington, DE. It was cheaper, and is actually safer than most out there.

Do yourself a favor and just research, read, and look at ones yourself. You're talking about your safety and investment (price of lift plus both cars involved), so don't rush into this.

Here's some reading as just reference of what to look into and familiarize yourself.

Why everyone get 4 Post lifts 2 posts are good also. You can take tires off without jacks. My dad has 2 Rotary 2 post lifts. in his garage.

The reason I went with a 4 post vs a 2 post is for a couple reasons.

First, a four post isn't nearly as wide as a 2post, and since this was going into a standard 2 car garage, I decided on a four post.

Second, I wasn't comforable with storing my car on a 2 post for extended periods of time with the supsion at full droop. And since I was using this as a storage lift, getting in and out of the bottom car was important to me.

If I really need to work on the car, I'll drive 10 miles to my brother in laws house and use his 2 post.

As you can see, I use it for winter storage and I need the ease of access a four post gives considering I've got to put my son in the back seat.
