Default Got me a new tool box!

Got this as a birthday present this weekend. It's a Ball Bearing Craftsman setup. I really needed something, eventhough I can't fill it up yet, because I had tools scattered everywhere. Hopefully I'll stay a bit more organized with this setup. I just gotta get some labels for this thing so I don't have to search through 5 drawers to find what I'm looking for, LOL.

The base is the 18" deep and the intermediate and top pieces are 16".

You'll fill it up in no time, trust me.

You can never have too much room!!!

Do yourself a favor and get some of those foam liners that go inside. Craftsman makes the regular ones and the non-slip ones. They work great at keeping the tools organized and not slipping around inside when you open a drawer. At the end of a job, I can open a drawer and immediately see if I've left any tools out.

The non-slip inserts work great. Pricey, but you only have to buy them once.

Yeah, I need to get the liners for it soon. I've thought about getting the foam that you cut out and the tools fit down it but I'm not sure that it would be worth all of the trouble to do it.

I didnt care for the cut out foam but sears sells foam sloted dividers that are adhesive and they are the best for wrenchs imho. The non-slip pads are also non optinal. Nice box have fun filling it up.

Are you guys with the stacked setups able to see into the too drawer while standing next to it. It seems to me the preference would be a long short chest. Anyone????

I'm 6'8" so the height isn't really a problem. But I can see where there could be a problem because it is pretty high.

I agree being all of 5ft8 or 9 at best, hence why both of my boxes are longer then they are tall.

I'm 5-11 and I can barely see into the top of my stacked craftsman. I wouldn't go much taller on a box for that reason. Wider is better if you have the space.

That's the same exact setup I have, good boxes.

About the non-slip stuff....Pepboys carries a form of this stuff, it comes in roles and you cut it to fit. It's MUCh cheaper than the stuff you get at Sears or Home Deport, and does the job. I bought about 3 rolls and it did all 3 of my boxes.

Very nice set up!

Recently, I got a tool box about 2/3 that size and it sure helps with reducing clutter in the garage!

Have fun filling it up.
