You should take it back to Sears and they will be able to send it off. All Craftsman TQ wrenches have either a one or two year warranty. How old is yours?

It's 2 years old. They don't warranty TQ wrenches b/c it's a precision measuring device.

WOOS1, I have seen several buddies take <1 yr old TQ wrenches back to Sears for an exchange and they won't do it. Everytime they say it's a precision measuring device so they can't warranty it.
Maybe their guidelines have changed. I'll take it there and see what they say. My receipt for purchase date is long gone though

Levi, make sure you show them in the catalog that it is has a limited warranty. If you are unable to do anything with it, I might be able to help ya out, being the tool wh*re that I am.

it is true that crapsman tq wrenches are not warrantied w/the lifetime warranty... however it's just a matter of finding the right person
my 3/8" drive Torque wrench broke while I was building my motor... went to a sears close to me... they said no... then went to another sears on the way home from work one night... and the person there was new and said ok... and let me grab a new one for exchange

If you take it to sears they will send it to their repair and calibration center but they will charge you.

i had my craftsmen tq wrench break on me, and they wouldn't replace it. nor could they even tell me where to get it repaired. i now use it as a breaker bar. i bought a kobalt (lowe's) wrench that is much better anyway.

Levi,
The honest approach is to replace it (what range was it?). The not so honest approach is to go buy a new one and return it defective. I don't condone such behavior, I'm just mentioning the options available. I thought there was an address in the packaging that said where you can send it to. Sears may be able to pull the book out of one and check it. Otherwise, try to find a J.A. Williams tool dealer (a snap on company), they make great torque wrenches and are much less than snap on (the dial type are identical except for the color of the case and the silkscreening on the dial...it is the same wrench, I've got one). I also have a Williams 30-250 ft lb "micro torque" that I use for suspension and tires, it has been beyond excellent.

the swap and return, is a common idea
... here is what i would do, go in nicely, and ask to change it. Rememver, on the door is says "satisfaction guaranteed, or you money back"
when the salesman says no, talk to a manager, and remind them what the sign says. Either get a refund, and purchase another one, OR get it exchanged. Remember, kind at first, turn into a loud jerk if needed.

Re: My Craftsman TQ wrench broke, where can I send it for repair
slow i like your thinking and it is true if you bitch enough they will do any thing (worked retail). mine was 3 months old and broke but it would bost as much to fix it as to buy a new one. Just because they were a** holes to me i was and still might do the buy and return thing. dont ever do this but they deserve it.
Ordered a snapon one and the dealer/guy must not need to sell any thing because he never called.
track i will try to find one of those you speak of the damn snapon was out ragous$$$
