I can't really comment on your question but I will say (just in case you don't know) that if you buy off a truck it will be substantially cheaper than off the website...found that out the hard way.

Fwiw I love my snapon dial adjust flex heads:

Having that little bit of swivel is nice. Lessens the need for extensions which throws off how it reads a little.

i pretty much only buy off the truck and if its something i can get off ebay i will-- but if ebay isnt more than 20% cheaper than the truck i give the local rep the business as he does the warranty..

generally there is a buy one get one of something and the local rep stocks up so even if it was a month or more ago he might have the "special" on the truck.. and if you ask for a discount you will get it-- i see stuff on ebay more than i paid on the truck ..

Yes, I love the one I use. And I would defiantly hit up a truck. It's plenty to drool over.

I have the 1/2" tech angle, and it is awesome. Makes it awesome to torque ls1 head bolts, and balancers.

from what I've herd the craftsman digital wrenches are junk compared to the snap on wrenches.if you use gm torque to yield bolts its great to have the snap on wrench.compare the price of stock gm head bolts compared to ARP bolts.

I love both of my snapon techangles. (1/2 and 3/8). Makes my life so mych easier when toing LS heads in the car. Also the crankshaft bolt. I was lucky when I got mine because I was at school so I got one for free because of the 50% off discount we had.

The one with degree capability is very cool and more than worth the money. You can even ratchet it back and it keeps track of how many degrees you have gone. VERY cool tool.

how accurate are the degree meters on these wrenches. has anyone used the tech angle in conjunction with a torque angle gauge to see if its **** or not?

They are very accurate. Better get the angle one. I cant think of any car company that does not use TTY bolts. They are getting more prevalent by the day. Dampers heads ETC. Mostly all engine have some TTY applications today. So better off having the tools before hand!!!

If you do alot of work with torque to yield bolts, absolutely. If you only do them once in a blue moon and the non angle wrench is cheaper, don't bother. You can mark the bolt and head or balancer wherever and just turn them until its approximately the degree if you get where I'm going.

I'm at a GM dealer and love my MAC torque angle, I've got the 3/8 one.

THe guy next to me has a Snap On 3/8 torque angle, and I personally like mine better. With mine when you get close to the torque/angle, the green lights flash and beep more frequently as you approach the torque/angle. Once you hit your spec, the red light flashes and the little wrench beeps like crazy, and if you keep torqueing it keeps sounding.

The Snap On one beeps when you hit the reading, and then stops. Yeah it vibrates but it still only does it once. If you aren't really careful with the way your torqueing the bolt or nut you could easily go past your spec.

Sorry my explanation may be a little hard to follow I'm watching a movie right now, lol.

I work for the federal govt and am QA in a calibration lab. We cal hundreds of wrenches per month. These electronic wrenches are the most reliable and accurate thing on the market. Highly recommended if you can afford one.

This is not true, at least of my 1/2" techangle. It beeps a couple percent before the mark, and vibrates as you hit it and go past. It doesnt stop vibrating. and you get the beep well in advance.
