Craftsman Warranty :c

Craftsman Warranty :c
So what i remember Craftsman has always had a good warranty program if their tool breaks. I was using a 7/8 wrench to change out my ball joint, and the closed end broke
so i ran it up to the local sears and they told me that i was "improperly using the tool" and would not let me exchange out my 3 month old wrench :c
Should i try another store or should i move up the chain?

Does the wrench have scars from being hit with a hammer or having a pipe used as an extension? That will usually void a tool warranty. If no scars I’d try other stores then complain higher up.
Sometimes the same store with a different shift of people takes care of issues too.

Went to a second store and they said the same! The tool.is.flawless other then where of broke. If I have ever needed an extension I would.use my socket bar that is 2feet long. I don't usually use tools.on.combination like a.hammer and a wrench and a wrench attached to a wrench unless.I.absolutely have to

I once took back a screwdriver that I found. someone had cut the shaft from the handle with a hacksaw. I took it to my local sears, The guy behind the counter asked me if I cut it. I said I didn't but I'm sure someone did. he said ok and gave me a new one. I've never had a problem returning any broken tools at sears.
Hope you have better luck at another store.

Craftsman is a lost cause just like Sears. I had a "professional" series pair of diag. cutters. Never were sharp. Took them in and they don't make them in that series anymore. Solution? Give me the standard set. Pffffff. Lowes stuff is much nicer, there's a hell of a lot more of them and no questions asked warranty... Not a rebuilt POS.

I bought a Husky 3/8" and 1/4" ratchet set with some wrenches. The wrenches are kinda weak but ive taken the ratchets through hell and back and they still keep on kickin. I love how at the bottom of this thread theres a craftsman ad haha

When I worked at Sears (11+ years now), I exchanged sockets that were in a house fire. Them not returning a broken wrench is horrible. I laugh at my old employer - they are going down the toilet, and all due to their own policies.
I'm going to lowes tonight for a kobalt 17mm deepwell - screw sears.

I've switched... Craftsman lost me a couple years ago, their quality fell off the cliff; and they "quietly as possible" removed the Made in the USA and moved their production to China.
I went to Kobalt/Husky, and haven't looked back. Better tools (Judged by the breakage rate observed by me and the abuse I do to my tools); and never had a warranty/swap out issue yet.

Mallets with broken wooden handles from impacting the handle.
Cut wrenches to make a stubby wrench.
Split sockets.
Binding ratchets that had hammer marks.
Broken screwdriver handles with hammer marks.
ALL were warrantied without question. I still use Craftsman for my household tools, and use some of their stuff at work too.
