Lightbulb Ls1 crank holding tool

The prints for this tool are located in the back of this months issue of hot rod magazine. This tool is used to hold the engine from turning while you tighten the crank bolt.

Great idea - I think you could make a jig out of an old LS1 pulley and "crank" out a few dozen of these crank wrenches in no time....

I know these would sell to both auto and M6 guys since the issue of stabilizing the crank lis not unique to slush-box owners...

GM also has a tool to stop the engine from turning. It is a peice you put in place of the starter and it has teeth that hold onto the flywheel to stop it from rotating, it works great.

Yeah, but you have to remove the starter. With this one, you don't

If you read the caption below the first picture it looks like TPiS makes these. They are a sponsor to the right --->

TPIS doesn't currently have any made, yet.

However, if you call them and want one call them up and have them add you to their list. They would need to reach a certain # of people before they would begin production on them.

The more people that want one = cheaper the part can be mass produced.

I think I'll make one of these just for fun, I have a lot of scrap steel laying around including two 4/8 sheets of 1/4". Would it be wrong to sell it here? What's it worth? My time isn't worth much as I would be out there tinkering anyway.

Your best would be to make one and let Tony ( Nine Ball ) decide if it would be o.k to post about it here, if there's no sponsor here selling them he might give you the o.k.

Started on the "tool" but ran out of oxygen
I'll get my bottle filled tomorrow. Here is a pic, I have to take it to my friends machine shop for machining the big hole in the center.
Question, is the bolt pattern the same in a march pulley as the ASP? Same bolt size? I patterned this tool for the ASP & stock pulley, I've never seen a March.

Here it is, I will paint it black tomorrow. It worked on the stock pulley and the ASP. It's all hand made with a torch so it's not real pretty but it works great. Use the pins for the stocker then flip it over for the ASP.
