Default An X-pipe I made this weekend....

With my new Bandsaw i got for X-mas. Took me about 30 minutes for this rough fab-up. Need to do a little fine tweaking on the inside, clean up of the shavings and what not.

What you think?

I reasearched them for what I was/could use them for alot...the vice on the machine is big enough to hold up to 3.5" J's I believe like the Magnaflow stuff.

I narrowed it down between the Craftsman version and the one at Northern Tools.

They had every feature the same, so i bought the Northern one. I set the pipe up where i want it cut, and alk away man. Its this sweet!

Heres the one i bought.

Thats the same bandsaw I bought a couple of months ago, they work great, pick up the bi-metal blades for it and it cuts 100x better than the blade that comes with it. I dont know what I ever did without my bandsaw, I hate using my cutoff saw now its too damn noisy and messy

What did you use for cutting lube? and trust me....i dont know what ive been doing either without this thing for a long time! the cuts are soo precise its sick.

What TPI are you using with your bi-metal blades. Fastenal had some variable 10-14tpi bi metal stuff. I was thinking about getting some of them.

Im stuck on the cutting oil though..Mine has the pump and stuff for it just havent found the fluid yet.

We've got a huge version of that saw, as well as some $120k CNC machines, and we use Val-Cool blue metalworking fluid for all of them. Grab a 5 gallon bucket, it'll last you for years. It's water soluble, you dilute it about 10:1.
