i do.

i use eastwood's stuff and its real simple. i did exactly what you were talking about for an oven. its a good amount of work (especially for proper metal prep), but i feel its worth it.

here's an example:

i've also seen some reasonably priced powders on ebay, but have never tried them.

i've got a coworker interested in that gun. it looks interesting seeing as how you don't need an air compressor. for about 190, its worth a try.

I also use the Eastwood System and my wifes' old electric oven as our new house has gas oven. You definitely don't want to use your oven that you currently use for cooking

Don't see why the Sears gun wouldn't work fine - cost isn't too bad...

DV8- when you did yor calipers, did you disassemble them first or just mask off the critical components? Always wondered if the seals in the calipers could take the PC cure temps.

Used the Harbor Frieght gun and some of there paint as well, with good results. A good outcome has a lot to do with application and baking vs just the spraying.

The SEARS gun works very well, cleans up easy, and covers quickly.
Good luck

I would go off of the time limit or until it flows out. Once it flows out stop heating. And yes it needs to be grounded when spraying. That is the function of powder coating. Hang off of a grounded metal rack or clip the ground in a non conspicuous area .

I get all my supplies from caswellplating.com. I got the harbor freight powder coat oven 2 years ago on sale. It gets hot enough to cure ceramic coating as well. I find I use it for a lot of things. Pre heating aluminum for tig welding or just general paint drying.
