i live with my parents also and had the same situation as you,, so what i did recently is built them a shed, moved all their **** there and now have a two-car garage again. it had been 20 yrs since the floor could be seen.

Default garage with old rotary lift

I have a 2 post lift I picked up for a total of $1050.00 800 for lift 100 in sandpaper paint hydraulic fluid, 45.00 for a new line, had new cables = freebie, 40 or so in concrete anchors, the rest for install garbage for my neighbor - new drill bit for impact drill - he's in construction so he had a big industrial drill. Best money ever spent. If anyone is interested best thing I can say is call local lift dealers and see if they have used inventory in = that's how I came across mine.

yeah, its nice to be spoiled. but once you have one, you'll wonder how in the hell you got by without one for so long. easily the best investment Ive made too. my brand new 10K lb hoist cost me around $2300 and it came with everything needed except a hammer drill/bit, and trans fluid to fill it. if I remember right, the hyd. fluid would get thick when really cold out and make the motor work harder/slower raising a car. so they recomended I use auto tranny fluid instead.

i have three garages right now. 22x24 attached to house, 24x28 for car stuff, and 30x40 pole barn for construction and storage

but, got a new crib in the works with my dream garage, 40x100 stick built. 8ft ceilings on most but one bay gonna have 12ft tall for 2 post lift.

i have and advantage over most though, i am a contractor so most of the new garage is built with material left over from other jobs.

Thats the way to do it. If I was to do that I would to to construction sites and pick up all the left over dry wall and wood!

Damn you guys garages are so nice. Where do you find most of the organizational stuff for the garages. I just got a new house and am looking for anything I can get my hands on as far as tool chests, shop lights, everything.

Too add to his question, does epoxy fill in the cracks/crevices or is it strictly paint like. I used this 2 part epoxy one time and it was thick as hell and filled in a hole for me, I would want the same thing in my garage, a nice flat surface

there's a local company to me here in michigan called "U-coat it". they sell to the public, and as the name implies, it produced to that anyone can install it at home in there garage. I'll try to find a link. I just saw yesterday that speed-inc. is a dealer for it too.

as for the cracks and stuff, they want you to fill in holes, and large cracks. it will fill cracks, but large cracks would still be visible through the epoxy I believe.

I havent done mine yet. I always have peoples cars on my hoist, and now that all my junk is in there, it'll be a big job to move everything out. also, Ive heard of guys trying to do one half, then move all there stuff onto the other half and paint that later. doesnt work out cause the color will be different. you can always rent one of those "pods" trailers to temp. store all your stuff in right outside your garage in the driveway. prolly wht I'll have to do.
