No lifts yet, maybe some day. 30x34 attached to the side of the house with a standard 3 car not shown in front of the house.

This is my in-law's garage...they weren't using it for anything but storing junk, so they basically let me use it as my own and store my stuff. My buddy and I cleaned it out, ran some wiring, thew up some sheetrock, paint, lighting, etc. Can't really fit a vehicle in it, so I do most of my work in the driveway.

Through the sliding door is another 1 car garage that's getting the same treatment over the winter. Hopefully, one day, it will hold my C5 or C6 vette, and the BelAir will stay where it is.

I am building a house and should be in it soon. I have several companies brouchures on the way, but haven't got any good numbers on high I'll be able to lift my cars.

I have a 9 ft garage door with 11 foot ceilings.

have you already gotten a hoist yet? I saw this thread, and I'll post pics of my garage, even though its a mess. just wondered if you wanted the specs from my hoist cause if you get a clear floor 2 post (which is what most shops use) this is pretty much what your limited to (10,000lb hoist). it sucks cause my hoist at work is a 7000 lb hoist, and its almost 2 feet shorter and when I built my house, I made the ceiling high enough to clear my hoist at work with a few inches to spare. then I found out they dont make 7000 lb hoist's in this design anymore because all the shops got the 10000 lb hoist cause it would fit trucks too.

I have 11' 2" ceilings, and i had to pass the hoist post's into the attic. which made the install a little more tricky, but i did it myself and Ive never installed a hoist before, and its really not that hard. just takes some time and its very important you get it exactly set before you drill the holes in the floor.
my hoist is the narrow design (for cars insead of wide for trucks) with the posts at an angle for better door clearance. if your garage is less then 30 feet deep, you'll need to get special door rails like I did so the door will hug the ceiling so you can raise the car all the way up w/o worry of the door hitting the car. especially if you have an opener.
a hoist is easily the best addition to my garage Ive ever added. once you have it, you'll wonder how you got anything done w/o it.

my car is on the lift

i don't know the square footage, but it'll fit 3 cars and has one lift, and a showroom out front that fits another car.

:edit: dang it, I really need to learn how to resize pic.s sorry.

yes, my garage is a mess and stuffed with way too much stuff. but there's still plenty of room to get things done. Im making a deal with myself that after I finish this job, I wont take on another until spring so I can get the garage cleaned back up, painted, and finish my work bench. Im hoping to get the floor epoxy too. as you can tell I need it. the garage is 24'wide, 29' deep on the hoist side. 22' deep on the left side. the trans am is all the way up on the hoist. its still a couple feet short of contacting the ceiling. infact, I can have the hood up on some cars, just depends on the length of the hood it "might" touch the ceiling. my camaro does not, dads TA would just barely touch. so I just keep all hoods lowered when goin up to be safe.

Talking

I'm currently living in a garage...does that count I'm staying with some friends to help them remodel their house. It's not bad....I have my studio, bed, broadband, cable tv, and heat. I drywalled and laid carpet...everything is sealed with epoxy...ran a 100amp service from the house. You can see behind the tv where the garage door use to be. Stays cool in the summer...and warm in the winter...concrete kicks ***! It will eventually be a game room with a pool table after the renovation is done Only thing that sucks is those cold *** trips to the craper when there is snow on the ground

We've got a 40x60 going up. They smoothed the dirt and finished the plumbing today. 2 10ft rollup doors and 1 large 12 foot electric door. Insulated with a furnished apartment and most of the goodies. Trying to secure a 2 post Rotary lift also. I'll post some pictures soon.

Here's some of mine. One lift for big stuff, one for personal stuff. The engine is an 05 LQ4 that's going in my truck.

This is the truck the LQ4 is going in this winter.

this thread separates the 'haves' from the 'have nots'...

I mean, I plan to fix up my 3 car nicely, but there are a couple $200K+ garages here.

Nice, very nice
