I've seen articles that say it's a scam and others that say it works. Dunno. Depends on how much extra cash you have laying around.

There was a big write up about that stuff a while back. Some cops got with the guy who made that stuff and did some tests. Needless to say, it failed miserably. The guy tried to say that the cops rigged it...bunch of bs if you ask me.

In regards to this page.. I can really only comment on the Harris county toll way, But the premises is the same. The easy way to do it is hide A digit. Not all but one or 2..WITH TAPE DIRT or something like that. The system as design to match the number they take picture of with the data base on file with the DMV..I they don't find it, they don't do a process of elimination. its just get throw out. Dump truck and trash trucks are really bad about this.. out of state plates also does not come up as it s only TEXAS DMV...but this might have changed in the last year or so. I have not been involve n it since then. There are really many was to beat the system. its not fool proof like they make you think it is. And if you really don't fell like going thought all that, just run thought the gate. no cameras out there , they cant so you because the law does not have any leg to stand on when it come to prosecuting you and the people that stand out there makes $6 an hour, they really could care less what you do... Those are the main way to do it without going thought to much trouble. Really very simple... but I do not think that the spray thing will work because the camera looks for reflective numbers..but thats just my opinion

I recently had an idea which i think is by far the cheapest way and will probably work. The plates here in nj are reflective and the black letters are not so cameras use a flash to get the contrast between letters and white reflective plate. Well i noticed that the guys making the vinyl stripes and stuff have black vinyl that reflects white! you could cover all the letters and when the camera uses the bright flash, the numbers and letter that are supposed to be black will reflect and it should come out all white in the picture. the only problem in a different situation. If you get pulled over by a cop, the first thing they do is shine the spotlight at you're car and run the plates! if they cant read the plates you will get an extra ticket and not likely get out of the first one either!
I havent tried this idea but i think it would work. those sprays are supposed to reflect but they dont only real reflective decals will give a good reflection and i think the paint for plates and reflective vinyl is made the same way with the tiny glass spheres in it, which i highly doubt would be in a spray can.
