Default need help with stuck head bolt

A guy I work with gave me a 95 chevy cavilier the other day. its a 4 cyl auto with 101k miles and a busted head gasket. my problem is that two of the front head bolts are seized and the 15mm studs are rounded. Ive already broken two 3/8 impact sockets and a 1/2" impact just rounded the nut. what can I use to get these head bolts out? are there special tools for this?

Yes there made buy snap on and blue point the dig into the metal, or you can drill the heads off and use a stud remover to get them out when the head is off.

You may be able to put a air hammer on top of the bolt head and the pounding will sometimes release the bolt, but if you rounded the head off already then your gonna need that extractor nut deal that snap on has.

Use an air hammer first... by all means. Try a twist socket too.

plus one for the air hammer. I had a headbolt on a vw get rounded once. spun it with an air hammer to break it loose then I cut the head with an angle grinder so I could get a bent prybar in there to twist it the rest of the way out.

+1 on the air chisel, I`ve had good luck getting bolts out with it. Even ones that still had a good head but the impact just didn`t have the power.

Drill the heads off, but make sure you use a center drill to get a start for the regular drills so they don't walk. Drill at a slow speed because they are hardened bolts. You can do it. Once the bolt heads are off, you can get the head off and the get a Pipe Wrench on the remaining stud.

Weld the block/head! It's all iron!

Edit: Go to the junkyard and get yourself another head, its cheap enough!

1x ^^^^
But try to use "cobalt" drills designated w/"CO" they have a gold tint to them.
also use some WD-40 to keep from burning them-up
