Default Snap On Crank Puller

Tried to find a part # using the search feature.

I'm looking for the latest part number for the Snap On 3 armed puller for the LSX. I was pretty sure there was a Snap On unit for the GM Gen 3+ motors.

Maybe I was wrong, but what is the recommended tool?

Thanks bro.

Here's the only one I found from Snap On. Says blue point on it though...

I'll see what Snappy will give me for a deal on Wednesday.

LOL yeah gotta have it... I looked it up on the Neiko site and it's a 100 bucks list. So that guy is practically giving them away at 50 bucks a pop. Even with shipping @ $13.

Snap on will give me a deal though, probably 100 bucks cash. I'd rather see my cash go to him know what I mean?

Usually the blue point stuff is outsourced and they just slap their name on it.

If you look up the ms400 blade scraper, you'll see matco, and snap-on(blue point) are the same.

Yeah you're right. But my Snap On guy stands behind everything he gives me 100%. Usually if the price isn't too far off, it's worth it to get it from him.

Out of all the tool guys who come through our shop, he's the only one here every week. Sometimes more than once if we need something.

Again, it's just not worth it to me to save a few bucks. Not when my money is going to a good guy who's local.

Have you considered Posi-Lock? They're the best.

Haven't heard of that one. Snap On should be here in the next couple hours so we'll see what kind of cash deal he'll set me up with.

Before you make your purchase look up Posi-Lock. Sears is one of their distributors. With Posi-Lock you can install the puller without a helper. Something you can't do with the SnapOn. I checked out the one you plan on buying and with that type you need at least three hands to install it or you've got to get someone to hold the three legs that are flopping around all over the place while you trying and hold the puller body in position AND tighten down the puller rod all at the same time. You don't have enough hands to do all of those things at once by yourself. With Posi-Lock it's not a problem because Posi-Lock has a collar that holds all 3 legs in position so all you have to do is hold the puller body with one hand while you screw the rod in with the other hand. It's a snap! Posi-Lock turns a two man job into a one man job. No waiting around for someone to finish what they are doing so they can come over to help you get your 3 leg puller started. They're not cheap. Maybe a few dollars more than what you plan on spending now, but it will pay for itself down the road.

Didn't get the chance to check it out.. Snap on sold it to me for 95 bucks.

I'm a BMW tech so I doubt I'll use the thing more than once or twice...

Maybe I'll finally get around to installing the cam and valvetrain parts I've had for this car for 2 years LOL.
