Default Roll car over "lift" for cheap repairs?

I saw this in Korea a few years ago and now I saw another one at the NHRA show in Englishtown NJ Saturday. At the show a Mustang was rolled on its side so you could see the bottom of the car.

Apparently, you take off the wheels of your car, bolt on the "lift" to your axels and roll the car over on its side. "Wheels-off" side down!

My thought on this is that this "lift" is probably an inexpensive way for hobby owners to work under their cars at home.

Has anyone used this? Is it dangerous?

Sounds kind of neat and somewhat useful. You wouldn't be able to drain fluids or do some other things though.

Gay as hell. Get some tall heavy duty jack stands and two good floor jacks.

They're really charging almost $1500 for that? There are way better systems out there for that price or less. You're almost in lift pricing for that.

Seems useless if you have to remove the battery and all fluids every time. Really useless.

I've heard of something like that, except they were calling it a rotisserie (sp?). Don't know if that was just a nickname or what, but this one was being used for like restoring cars. Basically to put a hollow chassis or body on it and you can roll it so that you can do body work, paint, etc. to it with out having to use jack stands or jacks. It looked pretty useful if your into restoring cars.
