We get all our steel for our Mini Baja cars from Dillsburg, they have good prices and just about any kind of material you want. However sometimes it can be hard to contact them. They have one phone line which is the same as their fax line and they work out of a barn/chicken houses, but they service over 10,000 accounts every year and are the #1 4130 supplier in the US. Be sure you know what you want when you call. As for the tubing sizes you were thinking about 2" is some huge stuff, I'd say that 1.5" x .083 would be just fine for members that are subject to bending. For two force members 1.5" or 1" x .065 or .049 would be more than enough. On our baja frame we go down to 1" x .029 for two force members in the frame. The biggest we have on our frame is 1.25" x .065 which is some beefy stuff. Here is the contact info for Dillsburg.
