Default New toys from Sears - Tool Chests

Well, I've been having some fun today on my vacation day. I bought a new rollaway tool chest setup and a workbench from Sears. Also picked up the 150psi 6hp air compressor. Damn this black trio looks nice! This is my first actual garage, so I went a little nuts I suppose.

LS1TECH edition toolbox :

Now to go put all the shelves together, taking a lunch break. BTW, its 102F outside right now, this has been a good workout!

I really like that workbench! Is that a solid metal top (as in 'warp free')? Hell, I didn't even know they sold those! As soon as I pick up a garage at my apt complex, I'm gettin the hookup with one of those workbenches.

You dare rag on my radio! LOL. Its not that bad, its a digital tuner with CD player and remote control. Good enough to get dirty in the garage

The workbench has a 1" particle board top, but comes with a galvanized metal cover that fits over it. It was on sale at Sears for only $99. That was like $50 off!

Tool chest set was on sale for $299 and came with the center chest free. In the catalogs the regular price is $429.

I'm glad I bought the bigger size tool chest, because after I organized all my tools and put them into it, I am currently about 3/4 full.

Don't make the same mistake I did. I Spent $800 on a Craftsman ball bearing top and bottom chest about a year ago, and have now run out of room. They no longer make the intermediate chest, so that is not an option. I'm going to sell it and buy one of the big $2K sets. I will not run out of room next time. I have over 1200 pcs of Craftsman hand tool.

What's that beside your tool chest? A miniature water heater? My wife could have that emptied before she got out of the shower ;-)

I hate to spend that much money, but when I look at how much money will be stored in it, it doesn't seem so bad. I can't get over the $5~6K chests. The reason that many of them are so expensive is that the compound ball bearing slides can often cost $500~700 for a chest.
