You could always quote before and it would work exactly as the quotes work now so if you always use quotes, you'd see no difference. The problem comes in if you're looking for something like KONI and LOWERING and the words are not always together. If you type in those words without quotes you will find quotes with EITHER word not BOTH words - that's the problem.

Its not just you, I don't have it either. One day the search was working great, next day BAM. Now it has been useless for about 2 weeks.

it works for me. BUT

i do it a different way though, and get great results...

1. hit the the search button up top in the red strip
2. DO NOT SEARCH THERE, hit the advanced search at the bottom of the box
3. on the left, in the keywords field, type in what your searching for.......... (ex p0480)
4. right under neith the keywords field, change the drop down box from "search entire posts" to "search titles only"
5. hit "search now" at the bottom of the window.
6. enjoy your findings.
You wont have 8 billion pages of stuff that is no where near related to what your looking for, to sift though,,,only topics that are related by TITLE will appear, giving you the "meat and potatoes" of what your looking for. If you used the p0480 as i did in my example, you'll see all kinds of p0480 stuff.

Good Luck!!

Why should we have to do all that when it was working perfectly. Rule of the game, do not fix something that isn't broken. Any word on when this disaster will be fixed?

has it ever worked though?,,I mean, ive been on here for a few years, and the "normal" search has never seemed to work quite right. Plus that, i just dont have hours to spend searching 20568 pages of threads,,id rather have the ones that are directly linked to what im searching for. Im a lazy guy, and if its too hard to hit 2 extra clicks of the mouse to do much less searching for ya, and have more related results, then you have alot more time on your hands than most folks.

see that lil blue "0" under your name (<<<<),,,next to trader rating,,right above "join date",,,,click on it, and you will then go to the trader rating page.

Using a + sign instead of a space seemed to help out a bit. Ex: 4l80+converter.....still lots of hits, but they all seem to be relevant at least.

I don't understand why or how they screwed it up when it was fine before. Yes I actually could SEARCH then.

OK, this makes search work much better for me. The + sign is the perfect AND between keywords so I get better hits on what I was looking for.

exactly. It worked perfectly before. Its a joke now, a complete joke. It's like chemtrails, the administration is not giving any clear explanation.

I'm going to try the + thing, but I've had the same issue for the last week or so with the search bringing up completely irrelevant threads. It used to work just fine for me.
-What I've been doing lately is just going to Google, typing in my keywords plus ls1tech, and I've been having better luck with that, lol.

Still not working, are admins even trying to fix this or looking at this thread? I mean all they need to do is revert back to the old search settings. Why is this so difficult?

HAHAHAHA this is my Biggest complaint about this site. I gave up years ago trying to search for anything on here.... There for a while it wouldnt work at all, then it started to get a little better and then it just went down the ******* again... maybe someone needs to call up ALL the other message forums and ask them how they do it!? seems to work everywhere else!
