Default Auto resize for posted pics

On other forums I visit, if someone posts a picture larger than a pre-determined size, like 3,000-pixels-plus, it will automatically resize to 1024 so there isn't any unnecessary scrolling side to side.

I'm pretty sure it's a mod that has to be installed on VB, but has there been any thought into having an auto resize function added for pictures?

Or am I missing something in the user profile section that allows auto resize.

It would be so much easier if we didn't have so many asshats that thought a 5,000-pixel-wide image was necessary. But I would also love to see this implemented.

In reply to the OP, I have no problem with there being a limit. However, I HATE sites that "squish" larger images instead of resizing their dimensions proportionately. I can't remember which one does it, but either Thirdgen.org or CamaroZ28.com does that. It's horrible. I'd rather have to scroll to the side.

You click on the Insert Image button above the white text field where you type. It looks like this:

But, the image will have to be on the Internet first. Google "image hosting" to fine a place to upload images to the Web. Then, copy and paste the direct link to the image into the box that comes up when you click on the Insert Image button.
