Updated Classifieds!
Good change/update Adrian, amazed at how many people whine about this, wow. Now that the LS/non-LS is separated, should look much better, (right now its a clusterfuck) Thanks for the update.

For those of you that keep bringing up the little poll thread, with the 90% disfavor comments.... You don't realize that LS1Tech sees over 100,000 visitors per day. So, that poll is hardly even worth considering as a majority vote by viewers here. If anything, that poll only serves to indicate 90% disfavor among people who read that thread. The same people which happen to prefer complaining about something instead of offering helpful solutions or ideas.
Thank you for separating the ls from the non ls. I would like one more change since we cannot go back to the old format. Like another member had said can we make the search option a drop down menu. That way we can see the ads full sized like before. I think this is a great idea! A lot of users use small laptops or like me a cell phone to check on the site and the scrunched up sales section is hard to read. Just put the search options at the top as a drop down menu and when someone wants to search for a particular part they can pull the menu down and do an advanced search. That way everyone for the most part is happy. I think this will solve a lot of the frustration with strolling through the classifieds. It will give the look of the old classifieds with all of the advantages of the new classifieds. Thanks again for the separation and the updates!

What was annoying me was the mix of LS and LT, but now that is fix, I would like to see the clutter of searching stuff gone on the left side of the screen. It pushes everthing to the right and make it a PITA... and my Laptop even has a 20in screen!
Can't you put all the search options in the Advanced section or at least the Drop Down "search this forum" button

So now we all have to change to Firefox to make sure we don't have issues with the site when using MS-IE?!? (And I'm using IE-8 now. So it's not a newer version problem.)
Yer right, that's irrelevant, ...

This is how I see it.
I would suggest that the search menu be put up at the top below the navigation bar to relieve some of the look headaches.
Overall, its good its split back up into the right sections.
I am happy with everything but the layout.. If we could make the search at the bottom or the top, I would be happy with it. Or, as I stated earlier, make a drop down menu so we can open or close it as we wish.
It is still too crammed, this is what I see on my screen.

That is a MAJOR PAIN IN THE *** to read!
Thank you for helping out!

IB Adrian,
Thanks for seperating the LSX & non-LSX parts. That should make
things much better.
The main issue I have with the new system is this:
With the old system I would go into the LSX classifieds section,
scroll to the bottom of the page, & in the "Display Options" I would
sort the threads by "Thread Start Time". This allowed me to browse
miscelaneous LSX listings starting from the newest post. This option
saved me a lot of time since I didn't have to look over older posts
that I had already seen.
Since the system changeover I have been unable to find a way to
do this. Every section of LS1tech seems to have the "Display Options"
panel at the bottom of the page. Would it be possible to add it back
to the new classifieds section?
If there is already a way to do this with the new system please let me
know & disregard my entire post.
Thanks,
Daniel

I am seeing what we can do to move the search bar to the top.
I am not sure why some of you can't seem to be able to search with all states. I seem to be able to
Anyhow, we will fix that too.

The classifieds is still a pain in the ***. If your going to create subforums for every little thing that is going to be a bigger pain in the ***. I, like many others dont look for specific parts. We want to browse all available parts. Its bad enough you already have several classified sections, regional, vehicle type, then this.
If you dont frequent the classifieds then you probably cant comprehend what the problem is. It is still a pain in the ***.....the separation, and more importantly the way its laid out I think. The item description box is so small its tall and a pain to read.
IB, I don't understand why you are fighting the idea of changing it back. It is obvious that the new system does not agree with the majority of the members here. Granted that this site may receive one trillion hit per second, but that does not mean every one of those members will speak up. Another thing is it's funny how if it is such an improvement, there is not equal, if not more members (by your logic and view of the poll), that should be defending the new classifieds. Keep in mind that if someone "does not mind it", that still means they don't like it. There is a difference between liking something and not minding, or better yet having to deal with it. If someone likes it, they will state just that, if they don't then they will voice their opinion, if they have the fortitude to fight for what they believe is right, or simply "not mind it".

What could have been done is wipe the whole classifieds out and take everything off of a backup file.. you do backup daily right? And then you would lose what was entered that day but not a big deal and only a minor hickup compared to the disaster that now exists.
The price block is an awesome idea...
Get rid of the row that says "categories" and make the title block way bigger. Maybe it looks ok on your browser but not mine. It takes up half the screen almost.
Also get rid of the private/vendor listing.. All it does is add clutter, take up space and its irrelevant anyways. Theres just too much going on. Shrink the search thing on the left, and be careful how you separate the stuff. I hate going to all diffferent forums to look for something because someone wasnt quite sure what one it was supposed to be in.
