Gotta agree with hardtop on this one. This post is pretty out there. Classic leadership 101: Belittling. Good job!! That poll isnt the end all be all but its relative to the big picture, which is : the classifieds suck and people dont like change. Will IB fix it? Sure they will. Happy people = more money.

I'm not happy with the new sale section. I spend most of my time there and it is no longer easy to view "for sale items" or find what I'm looking for. Half the time the items I'm looking has zero information. The old system was much easier. My 2 cents.

much better but still a pain with the search on the side just delete it and it will be good enough and just bring the last 10000 posts back if you change it back to the old way it'll take a week tops

When LS equipped cars section is clicked, it takes me to the parts classifieds...

=\

LOVE the idea. It'll 100% make the classifieds easier to navigate. Just needs tweaking.

The poll is back up. At least someone is pretending to care what the users think. I was so wigged out by Nineballs post I didn't trust myself to make a comment, lol. Anyway, someone is on the right track by seperating the LS and non LS parts. Now if we can get the search back to the previous version we will be set.

Larry

Edit: As far as not being able to move 60,000 threads back to the old system, don't. Wipe the classifieds clean, go back to the old system, and send out a mass PM (ala' the infamous PlanetLS debacle) to explain what happened so people can relist their items. Easy fix.

what is the problem?
just change things back to the way they were, stop making excuses about how people are not contributing to this mess in a proper, mature way.
this is the ******* internet.

The message is very clear, people are angry/upset/disappointed by changes made. IB is trying to improve the situation by tweaking the new system to better fit the LS1Tech profile. Keep in mind that the software starts out very generic, and they are implementing it on each site they have. IB also owns VBulletin, the backbone of most popular forums. For years we've been asking them to develop a detailed classifieds system for VBulletin. If set up properly, it will make things a lot easier to search and browse. Look at ebay, the busiest classifieds site in the world, and it still relies on a search format.

Give it some time, they will work the bugs out and divide things as needed. I don't think they will throw in the towel so easily, when they know it can be fixed.

Feel free to make suggestions and helpful ideas to improve the classifieds, other than "change it back". Anything can be fixed, so give it some thought and figure out what you would like to see.

Tony

As said before,I think alot of people including myself dont like the search on the side. Its a pain when you have to keep adjusting the screen to read text or look at a pic. If it could be moved above or below would be great. The response and listening to suggestions is greatly appreciated.

The changes to the new format made it a little better, but it'll never be as good as the old format, sorry.

I see my post was deleted and I got an infracton for it, plus was told to take my attitude else where. I guess thats how they feel about there upset forum members. If anyone wants the PM, I'll forward it to show you how they feel about the voice of there forum.

This situation feels like the senate and healthcare, we ram it down your throat and if you dont like it we just change it alittle and try again.

913MOTOR, calling an IB rep names and acting like an immature punk could have gotten you banned. It seems you didn't get the message by having the post deleted and PM sent. If you wish to continue your immaturity, your account will suddenly quit working. It really doesn't hurt our feelings to ban people who cause problems and act like jerks. Give it a try and see

I tried to bump the bike in my sig... but its in the old classifieds.... not even active,. then relisted it and there is no make listed for it. ??????????? I listed it as a lamborghini...lol. What a joke. What a pain in the *** to list something also....you have to have a model.. which first I listed it as a Rolls, and there were no models listed but yet had to have one. ls1tech = Fail.

That is probably like that because people haven't made a post that fits that category since the new classifieds were implemented.

What could have been done is wipe the whole classifieds out and take everything off of a backup file.. you do backup daily right? And then you would lose what was entered that day but not a big deal and only a minor hickup compared to the disaster that now exists.
We backup the site every hour. Problem is, you can't "roll one forum back" you have to roll the entire site back to the time the change was made.
Splicing databases has a lot of possibility to corrupt them.
The price block is an awesome idea...

Get rid of the row that says "categories" and make the title block way bigger. Maybe it looks ok on your browser but not mine. It takes up half the screen almost.
We have some improvements to make here... wrapping text for one.
Also get rid of the private/vendor listing.. All it does is add clutter, take up space and its irrelevant anyways.

Theres just too much going on. Shrink the search thing on the left, and be careful how you separate the stuff. I hate going to all diffferent forums to look for something because someone wasnt quite sure what one it was supposed to be in.
We are hoping to make the search box smaller and fit it across the top.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Typically bikes are placed here:

(which will allow you to post it )

Could you get rid of the space where the private/vendor listing was?
