Why is FoMoCo a sponsor? I just clicked on a section of the forum, and the first post was from Ford Motor Company with the title "David used to be a Chevy guy- here's why he changed. [Video]"
I know forums need their revenue sources, but it seems odd to have anti-Chevy ads from Ford on a site based on the GM LS engines. Am I missing something here?

This is probably what is referred to as a sponsored post. They're shown as a "sticky" under certain conditions. If so, it's legitimate. The sponsored posts have been used for a few years and, as suggested above, are through Internet Brands' network.

It turns out that the FoMoCo posts only shows up if you visit this site and aren't logged into your user account. I just thought it was strange that there would be a post from Ford semi-bashing Chevy on an LS1 board.

Yes, that is the Sponsored Post that appears as a sticky under certain conditions. They have been in use for a few years. The service is an ad partner with Internet Brands and advertises on several other forums.

The "Sponsored Posts" have been used for a few years, yes. The ad itself changes.
I wouldn't say a few years but I saw it about maybe a year ago, since I'm a hardcore GM guy. It kinda pissed me off but then just like stated earlier, I thank them for making the foxbody stang for us to put LS motors in them!
