holy **** man. the site isnt punishing you at all.

incase you missed it.

here is a picture, figure it out.

you should be happy you have a place to come and learn about cars.

go try your ideas for a non sponsor on any other board that stays alive because of sponsorship. It will be canned before you even blink...

You are punishing us by making us pay the extra 15 bucks for each one ( I know 15 people would EASILY purchase these emblems ) because they aren't a sponsor ( which we have no control over except to say, "Hey, you should become a sponsor at ls1tech.com ). While yes you aren't stopping us from buying it, 15 dollars is obviously nothing to you, but when it comes to an emblem for my car, that's alot to my "mod" fund. Hell, I'll take all the payments and do everything through PMs and never mention the vendor on this site, but does that make ME a vendor? I'm just trying to find a way to not "**** off" the sponsors who pay for the site and help save the members of the site some $$.

I didn't respond before because this issue pisses me off ( obviously pisses other people off that I'm pushing/questioning it ) and frankly NOTHING will change out of it so posting in it any longer is a waste of ALL our time. ( Not to mention I COMPLETELY ninja'd the thread from sunsetta )

Afterthoughts Auto (who conveniently is already a sponsor) carries that kind of stuff. Have you tried asking them to start carrying this product?

Geez. If you were standing here I'd give you $15 to quit crying about this.

This site costs me a few thousand bucks per month in just the server bills, just so you can enjoy it for free. Thats some "punishment" huh. So you can have a place to complain about spending $15

As a forum owner myself, I must support Nineball and the other Moderators in this thread. My site is run the exact same way (vendor-based) and the rules are strictly enforced. The Sponsors are the reason you're here. Can you not spare an extra $15 to a Sponsor as a way of saying "Hey, thanks for giving me a place to learn about my car"?

I'm willing to bet that if you have done any purchasing through this site at all, you've saved more than $15 already. I know I have.

I can see where you're coming from, but in all honesty, it is a moot point. The Moderators are doing their jobs and the Administrators are upholding their contract to the Site Sponsors. End of story.

If you don't have an extra $15 to spend, how can you justify spending any money on your car?

Real Mature Nine Ball, You were the last person I'd expect a comment like that from.

The site doesn't cost YOU anything ( it may have in the beginning, but even then you said there were sponsors before there were members ) it costs the SPONSORS because as you said yourself, without them site site wouldn't exist. I've bought quite a few things from sponsors so on that point the site isn't being provided for FREE to me, it's being provided by the money that I ( and others ) spend at the sponsors. Until a said sponsor carries the product ( which none do ) then there should be no rules against it, plain and simple. As I've said in my other posts and also what cyphur_traq said, the OWNERS have already spoken there IS NO CHANGING IT. I've tried to end the thread numerous times, yet geez it KEEPS getting responded to but not by members, but by the people who have already stated, ...

cyphur_traq: How the hell did you even make it to moderator status? You represent this site by being a moderator, yet you make childish and immature picture "slams"? Grow up.

ACW: I have not, I tried contacting the vendor who DOES sell them, but as soon as I mentioned becoming a sponsor here, they quit responding to me. I would have no idea where to start to find out where the said vendor gets his badges from.

JoeyAnderson: Don't take this the wrong way, but did you even bother to read the thread? I said this numerous times, not a single sponsor offers the product. I contacted the vendor about sponsorship and they quit responding to me once I mentioned it.

So they quit talking to you about it, so there wont be any "special" gp pricing.
so the whole argument is null and void.

here is the horse again.

Felixllka.....I dunno, I guess they felt I added something to the staff?

Yet you quote me in your arguement, so therefore even you think I have something worthwhile to add. Hmm....

Yes, I slammed you. I'll do it again. You're missing the point, and it that point has become a metaphorical 747 flying around your head, and you still can't seem to see that bitch. Lets turn this into a ghetto logic equation, see if you understand it a little better.

Sponsors = Money.
Money + Information = Ls1Tech.
!Sponsors + You = !Money.
----------------------------------
!Money + LS1Tech = !LS1Tech.

Now while that by no means is an actual logic equation....does that break it down for ya?

This is my last post in this thread. I'm done here.

The little 100x45 banner ad is what the sponsors are paying for. To have the rights to advertise on this site. Your analogy would be like saying that McDonalds paid for your TV because they advertise on the screen. Our staff provides this website, and all the hard work that goes into running it. Its a business, and a registered LLC. As a business, it is operated as such. We are listed as a marketing agency with SEMA. This site didn't force you to spend a dime on the sponsors, that was YOUR choice.

If you value the sponsors so much, then why are you suggesting we circumvent the system by allowing other vendors to sell stuff here without paying for the rights to do so? If we allow ONE sponsor to do this, then hell, we should let ALL of them do this to be fair, right?

Until a said sponsor carries the product ( which none do ) then there should be no rules against it, plain and simple.
That is the biggest idiotic statement I have read this entire thread. Lets say you open up a shop, and come out with your own brand of blue colored cylinder heads with your name engraved on them. You decide not to have any distributors of your product. So, you come to LS1TECH and sell the hell out of them for free, because nobody else sells your heads?

There is a site policy here, advertisers must pay for the privileges to market their items here. This protects the interests of those that already pay to advertise here. There are NO exceptions. Why is this so hard to understand? Its not personal, its simply BUSINESS.

I'm going to Wal-Mart now, with a basket full of LS1 performance parts. I think I'll set up a stand in the middle of their biggest aisle and sell my stuff in their store without asking. They don't carry any LS1 performance parts, so I'm sure they won't mind. Wanna come work the stand with me?

Tony

If you haven't caught the point, the thread ended and your still posting.
If you also haven't caught this point, I'm not afraid of your e-threats of not allowing me to post. I've spoken my opinion, as did others, there's no need for you to even stick your nose in here and stiring things up again.
