FS:1986 RX7 w/ ls1 & 4l60e looking for a quick sale $5500 WI
Year: 1986
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-7
Price: $5500
Mileage: 48000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): WI
Color: White
Transmission: Automatic
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
-1986 GXL
-125k on shell
Drivetrain:
-2000 WS6 Transam LS1/4l60e - 42k when installed...about 48k now.
-LS6 intake/ K&N
-No EGR
-Dyno tuned at Straighline Performance in Illinois (made 320whp 320wtq on a mustang dyno)
-Vats box for elimination
-belt for non PS motor (but PS pump still mounted, if you so choose to plumb it into the PS rack)
-Granny's Deluxe LS1 w/Radiator&mounting brackets
14" puller fan on ECU controlled relay
-Lokar Trans dipstick
-Transgo Stage 3 shift kit, shifts real hard and nice
-Walbro 255LPH
-Mobil 1, royal purple in rear
-Full 2 1/2" into single 3" Race muffler, back out to 2 1/2" Duals, with tips. (Sounds Great)
Suspension/brakes/wheels:
-Newer struts in rear, altho one might be on its way out (making some noise, leaking a bit)
-Brakes in front are fresh, stops good and firm
-Reman'd Brake MC
-300Z wheels w/ 225/50/16, 60ish% rubber left
-ARP studs/spacers up front to accomodate wheels
Body/Interior:
-Paint is in good condition, some small chips
-Few dents, one in rear, upper part of pass door/roof. Can be pounded out and repainted. overall not bad for the age
-Minor surface rust on passenger side door
-Black interior, front carpet removed
-Was a 2+2, now has bins.
-Autometer oil pressure and Coolant temp gauges
-B&M Megashifter
-Battery relocated to rear bin(Optima Yellow Top).
The Good:
The car is an absolute BEAST. Turns heads everywhere I go, yet still manages to fly under the radar. Response and feel are great from the non power steering and the brakes feel great. The car is stored during the winter months and during the days where the weather isnt nice out. It made 320/320 whp/wtq on a mustang dyno. It ran a 12.69 @ 115mph spinning on street tires the one time I ran it at the track. It also has taken down one or two local 600's.
The Bad:
-As stated above there a few small dents on the car. (passanger side roof and rear drivers side) They are not big by any means and could easily be pounded out. I left them, along with the minor surface rust on the upper passenger door, for an increased sleeper effect. The windsheild does have a crack in it. It is fairly large, but it doesnt effect my vision and I have not had any problems with it. Once again it added to my sleeper image.
-The interior is completely there minus the carpet, removed it for something lighter weight, I just havent found what that is yet.
-Like most swaps the stock speedo doesnt work. The tach works perfectly as does the voltmeter. The fuel level gauge has its issues, it never reads above a half tank, even when full, but after a while you get used to it.
If you pick up the car I would also throw in the gauges I was going to use to create a custom gauge setup; which would solve all the issues with the gauges. The gauges you would get are all Autometer Ultra-Lite series.
-3 3/4" Mechanical Speedo Part#4493 Brand new in box
-3 3/8" Electrical Tach Part#4497 Brand new in box
-2 1/16" Fuel Level Gauge 0 ohms empty/90 ohms full (would read empty when the tank is full and full when the tank is empty, it is the closest match to the mazda sender) Part# 4314 Brand new in box
-2 1/16" Electric Voltmeter Part#4391 Brand new in box
-2 5/8" Electric Transmission Temp Part#4357 Brand new in box
-2 1/16" Electric Fuel Pressure 0-100psi full sweep, slightly used but everything is there
-2 1/16" Electric Water Temp 100-250 degrees short sweep, slightly used but everything is there
-2 1/16" Electric Oil Temp 140-300 degrees short sweep, slightly used but everything is also there
Overall I think to good outweighs the bad by a long shot.
The Pictures:
The pictures below are from the previous owner, there has been nothing changed on the car and it looks exactly the same. New pictures will be taken once the weather gives me a chance.
The Reason Im selling:
With school and work I honestly dont have time to work on the car and build it the way I would like to. I really dont want to sell it but in the long run its the best thing for me. Im young ill build something else later.
The Price:
SOLD
Anyother questions let me know
Josh
