LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
The car is a rust free survivor, not even surface rust. Body has 38k miles. It has all the original panels and an extra hood. The extra hood is the same paint code. Black interior, tinted windows. Original headlights in perfect shape.Tail lights are from a 1986 SVO. Rims are 2001 GT, tires are new less that 800 miles. Steering column is from a 1989 with tilt. The car was in storage for 15 years when I got it. All of the original 5.0 Ford stuff was removed, as was the brake lines and the fuel lines. The fuel system was completely redone, I modified the stock intake pick up to be converted to -6 feed and -5 return. It has the corvette fuel filter and aluminum line ran to the front.
The underside of the car was cleaned and custom subframe connectors were installed. They start at the front where the frame curves up and continue back through the floor to the torque boxes. AJE tubular kmember, stock front control arms with poly bushings new ball joints and tie rods. UPR caster camber plates and UPR coilovers stock struts and stock rear shocks and springs. Rear control arms are tubular with poly bushings.
The brake system was completely redone. I removed all the lines and stock proportional valve and put in new lines and rerouted them out of the way. There is an adjustable proportional mounted to the drivers side shock tower. Everything is new, booster, master, steel lines, valve, calipers, rotors, pads. etc...
The engine is a LQ4 out of a 2002 Silverado. I redid the computer harness, swapped the intake for a LS1 intake and got 43lb injectors and Aeromotive rails. The heads are 799s that I got new from Chevy, installed yellow springs and sent them to get .030 removed to increase compression. Now its right at 11 to 1. New GM head gaskets, and ARP head bolts. New camaro water pump, (swapped the pulley from the truck)
The cam is a custom ground from Delta. The specs are 224/230 @ .050 .580lift on a 112 c/l. New timing chain and cam gear. Has a base tune 430rwhp.
Took the car on the Power Tour, averaged 22mpg.
Dynatech swap headers 17/8 with 3 in collector, 3 in H pipe with Thrush mufflers dumped in front of the axle. I have 2 1/2 tail pipes, just not installed.
The trans is a MN12 spec out of a 2006 GTO with 30K miles. I installed a new Z06 clutch set up, Wilwood master cylinder, and braided lines. There is a switch to allow reverse with the brake pedal pressed.
Drive shaft is an aluminum shaft from Driveshaft Specialist out of Texas. 3in .120 wall Big spicer joints and new yoke and flange for the 8.8, rated at 1000hp.
The rear diff is from a 96 Mustang, new bearings seals and Motorsport 3.27 gear. The clutches were also replaced and staggered for better lock up.
To sum it up, everything was replaced, except the wiper motor. But the car runs and drives as it should.
I have the a/c from the Chevy, and have the Mustang condenser. The evaporator was never removed. The wiring is done, so the GM computer can control the compressor it gets the signal from the Ford climate controls.
Battery is mounted in the trunk. Will pass NHRA tech, kill switch mounted behind license plate.
Needs rear seat belts, and the speedo is not hooked up (Yet) but I am working on it. buyer will get a working ZDrive when I am done with it.
