Looking to sell or maybe trade this car to pick up another F-body.

Found another car I'd like to pick up and need to make sure I have the funds available with out the wife killing me! But if I miss out on this other car then the price will go back up.


85K on motor.
Engine and Intake & Fuel:
Comp XE Cam 232/228 573 571 113,
Thunder Racing pushrods & Comp 918 springs
MTI carbon fiber lid & Ls6 intake, LS6 PCV conversion, car does not use any oil. Racetronix plug and play fuel pump

Trans & Rear:
ACE Racing Built 4l65E Stage 3+ -Every option they offer except for billet input/output shafts.
Hughes Billet flexplate
Yank SS4000 stall.--- Brand new rebuild from yank. I've got about 500 miles on it now. It hits hard!
Stock 10bolt w/ detroit locker and OE 3.42s and MAC aluminum cover.

Exhaust:
Pacesetter Longtubes
TSP O/R Y flanged for easier removal
3.5in Mufflex with Spintech muffler and 3.5 in manual cutout.
Suspension:
Spohn chassis mount torque arm
Spohn adj panhard rod
Spohn Adj lca's w/ weld on relocation brackets
Spohn weld in subframe connectors.

Appearance:
Side moulding removed, chrome Z28 badges, billet front grill,halo headlights 6000K HID's.
Wheels & Tires:
17x9 Chrome ZR1s with 275/40/17 Nitto 555 street tires all around with The fronts are barely warn. The rear's are getting low.



The interior is a Black/tan combo. The car had tan leather but the front seats were ripped to shreds so I bought a set of mint cloth ones and I installed those. I left the tan carpet and two tone door panels. I think it looks pretty good.

I'm not hurting to sell it, I'm just trying to move funds around to buy another car on the forum here.

The few issues it currently has are:

Needs rotors, pads aren't squeaking yet but the rotors are warped. Might be able to get away just turning them, I haven't looked yet.

There is a slight parasitic draw that will drain the battery if left not started for a long period of time. I'm planning to dig into it within the next day or two and get that solved.

There is a clunk when you put it in gear, I'm not entirely sure what it is. But when you put the car in drive or reverse from park, there is a clunk.

While in 4th gear on the highway, when the converter goes into lockup it will slip 2-300 rpm every so often. It's not consistent but it's their. I'm trying to get some datalogging done on it to see if it's just a pressure/tune issue. Which is what it seems like.

I thought that 4th gear was going out, but it turns out it's a converter/tune issue!


3rd and 4th gear hold just fine going WOT with it. The problem is only when you are cruising on the freeway.

That said, it's a solid start to go fast, or fix the Trans and run consistent 11's.

I think if you fix the transmission you will sell it fast. I don't see anyone wanting to take a trip from MN to TX to get it fixed. I'd be tempted to buy it and I don't need another car right now lol

If I fix the transmission it's not going to be sold for $6500. I am tempted to find a stock Trans and list it for $7500.

Well, after doing some digging around Monday night and some racing with the car as it sits, the transmission may actually be fine! Did some pulls that shifted the car into 3rd gear and it pulled and grabbed 100% just fine no slipping at all in 3rd. The only time the car act's up is in 4th gear, cruising at a constant speed. Its now leaning towards the torque converter is actually locking and unlocking, and that's the "slipping" feeling that I'm having. Going to datalog the car later tonight and hope for the best! Price will definitely be going up then guys!

Up again. Did some checking last night with an LM2 wide band with OBD 2 readabilities. Once in 4th and locked up, the converter will slip 2-300rpm. It's not the actual clutches going. I'm going to do a fluid flush/check for proper fluid level later tonight and then get an actual data logger on it and see if it's just a tune/pressure issue. Glad to know it's not the clutch plates slipping though!
