LS Engine?: Car has LS engine

the time has possibly come for me to move on. below is a breakdown of the car, any questions feel free to PM me. this has been my daily driver all spring/summer/fall - I finished the LS conversion over a year ago and its been reliable and consistent the whole time. car has been a best of 11.36 @ 117mph driven to and from the track. it gets attention and thumbs up wherever it goes.

started off with an original V8 79 landau coupe -I purchased it as a rolling chassis from a guy in NY but the car was originally from ohio. the body is very clean - the paint is faded perfectly in my opinion. aside from the wheels it looks like a very stock 79 Malibu. Link to my build thread on LS1Tech >>> https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...-nonsense.html

Asking $10,500 obo

Engine:
5.7 LS1 engine out of a 2002 Camaro - has been completely gone through. block was cleaned and checked, bores honed, new cam/main/rod bearings, new rings, ARP rod bolts, ported LS6 oil pump, double roller timing chain, stage 3 brian tooley camshaft/springs/pushrods, stock rockers with trunion upgrade, has stock casting 243 heads that have been gone through (valve job, new seals) and milled to bump the compression up to 12:1, legit LS6 intake, 40# injectors. huge aluminum radiator, spal fans, new GM water pump, speedway alternator bracket, new GM alternator, new GM starter

LS swap:
BRP 1 & 7/8 longtube headers, 2.5 stainless steel exhaust system, BRP mounts, speartech standalone harness, stock ECU tuned with HP tuners. Grand National fuel tank, racetronix 340LPH pump, all new braided fuel line and AN fittings.

Transmission:
TH350, ati 8inch converter, forward pattern manual valve body, large stacked plate trans cooler, lokar locking dipstick, aluminum 3.5in driveshaft basically a "good" unit built to handle 500hp - I also have a new flexplate shield and trans shield in the boxes ready to install.

Front suspension:
stock upper and lower arms, new ball joints, new tie rods, belltech 2inch drop spindles, manual steering box, monte SS sway bar, competition engineering 3 way shocks, v6 springs, stock front brakes (new pads/rotors/calipers)

rear suspension:
Iceman double adjustable upper and lower control arms(all spherical rod ends), stock rear springs, competition engineering 3 way socks, spohn anti-roll bar

Rearend:
8.5 BOP housing narrowed, moser c-clip eliminators/axles, eaton posi, motive 430 gears (rear was just freshened a year ago as all new bearings and seals), stock drum brakes.

wheels/tires:
15x3.5 and 15x8 centerline qualifier wheels, radial front runners and 275/60R15 ET streets

Misc:
all new brake lines, new master, new booster, all dash wiring cleaned up, battery mounted in trunk (optima red top) all new 2gauge cables, moroso cutoff switch, scottrod fab rear firewall panels.

*added*
someone asked if there are any "issues" with the car, so I figure ill post the answer here as well:

- the LS1 has the typical piston slap when its cold, its normal but just figured id put it out there
- the spohn anti-roll bar rattles (it may be annoying to some but It doesn't bother me)
- from time to time it will set a P0516 for high idle(it doesn't have a VSS so the ECM has no idea the car is moving) I just clear it and move on.
- it currently is running a truck ECM, the one fan driver is no good so I have both fans setup to come on at the same time. it runs cool even in the summer heat and has never been an issue.

I also have:

4L60e trans core for the car - it needs to be rebuilt but I will include it with the sale. the standalone harness is also setup for a 4L60 so its just a plug in deal - the ECM would have to be tuned for it though.

heat & a/c box - when I bought the car as a roller the heater was removed, I finally came across one that wasn't destroyed to put back in at some point so if the car doesn't sell by December this will be getting installed.

It made something like 360 to the tire through a loose 8inch converter

Your build thread says an L33 5.3 motor but the for sale thread says an LS1. Which motor does it have? I really like the car and am somewhat interested. Thanks.

You won't be disappointed he knows his stuff. I drove 16 hours for his fairmont wagon and it was everything he described. Matter of fact I think he needs to do these swaps for a living.

Default Malibu

Hi,
I was wondering how nice the body was on the car rust wise? I'm not looking for a perfect car just something that isn't going to rot out.
Thanks
John

I have not, I'd guess it's around 3300 lbs with the power it makes and the ET it runs. Aside from the heater box missing there no other weight reduction done to the car.

for a comparison - My last Malibu with an aluminum block LS, 4L60 and heat/ac weighed almost 3600lbs

I can get the car weighed on the local truck scale if need be.
