Default 2000 Firebird firehawk, Procharged/LS1 low 9s 1/4 mile

SOLD

Lets try this again, now that the car is tuned pretty close and runs what it should hopefully it will sell this time around.

NBM 2000 Formula Firehawk, 48,000 miles on the body. Body/paint is in very good shape, car has had a quarter panel replaced at some time when the previous owner had it and it has had a new rear bumper cover and some work under it. Doesnt look like it was hit bad and the quarter panel was done nicely as well as the paint work. Dont get me wrong, its a very good looking car and the paint looks great, I'm just being up front about it. Paint is an honest 8/10.

And yes its a real Firehawk, not that it matters much at this point.

Car has about 40 street miles, twenty 1/8 mile and six 1/4 mile passes on it since it was put together. It has ran a best of 5.80 @ 121 1/8 last week @ 1500' DA with the BS3 and has run 9.21 @ 145 1/4 mile with a 1.30 60 foot two weeks ago on 275 radials. Still has more in it, I think in good weather it will go high 8s with some 10.5x28S tires and a cam change. Car weights 3370lbs with me in it (230lbs).

Chassis:

Moser M9 fabricated housing w/M9 torque arm and chrome moly trans crossmember, narrowed 3.125" per side, back brace, aluminum Moser center section, 3.70 gear, spool, drilled/lightened flange 35 spline axles, 5/8 studs.

BMR extreme drag rear sway bar.

PST 3.5" aluminum driveshaft.

UMI Chrome moly LCAs, PHB, chrome moly front lower control arms, UMI K-member, subframe connectors.

Billet specialty 15x4 and 15x10 (4.5" BS) wheels, M/T ET fronts, Hoosier 10x28 slicks w/ MT tubes (19 passes on them), also another set of wheels and 275/60/15 Hoosier drag radials (7 passes on them) included.

Aerospace front drag brakes 'hat style,' Strange rear drag brakes, SJM line lock/ABS delete.

CE three way drag shocks rear, Strange single adjustable front shocks with QA1 300lb generation F springs.

Nasty aluminum fuel tank, magnafuel 4303 pump, -8 line up front, -6 return (using some stock feed line), stock fuel gauge works.

Magnafuel pre-filter, Jegs post filter.

Autometer Fuel pressure and boost guages, Stewart Warner shift light. Stock PCM is still in the car to run the stock oil pressure, speedometer, water temp and fuel level gauges.

Big Stuff 3 standalone ECU with DAI, latest firmware.

Grant GT steering wheel with working horn.

NRC custom built 10pt CM cage, nicely done and just NHRA certified to 8.50.

Pair of Kirkey Pro street/drag seats (17" wide), race craft brackets, new G-force 5 point cam lock harness.

New ACC carpet.

Odessy PC925 battery.

B&M trans cooler, -6 AN line.

B&M pro stick shifter.

BMR heater block off plate.

Kooks 1 7/8 headers with jet hot coating and stainless Y-pipe, headers were used but fresh ceramic coating on the headers. 3" Y-pipe into a 3x4" flowmaster merge into a single 4" magnaflow muffler.

Car has the HVAC removed, ABS, air bags, radio/speakers, stock seats and stock seat belts have been removed, I dont have the stock parts. Still has power steering, brakes, power windows and locks. Wipers are removed but I have the parts to put them back. Wiring has had some removed but all lights and major accessories that are on the car work.

Engine:

Kurt Urbam built 346 short block, brand new LS6 block, Howards's billet rods, Diamond pistons, new stock crank, arp main studs.

TR 224/227 114LSA cam, LS7 lifters, TR 7.4 pushrods, rollmaster double roller chain.

AFR 225 'small bore' heads, ARP head studs, new LS6 intake, ported stock TB, Delphi 95lb Low-Z injectors, speed inc fuel rails, aeromotive regulator.

Trans:

Fresh TH400 with TCI aluminum direct drum, Griner aluminum pro tree brake valve body, TCI deep cast aluminum pan, JW ultrabell, RCI blanket.

TCI SFI flexplate, ATI Treemaster MRT converter.

Power adder:

Procharger D1SC, ATI superdamper keyed to crank, SDCE 8 rib tensioner with 3.4 and 3.7 blower pulleys, 4" core FMIC, procharger race bypass, giant intake air filter, Katech belt tensioner for alt/PS belt, Meziere electric water pump.

Reason for selling is I'm just plain bored with it, there is not a thing wrong with it. Just changed the oil, spark plugs and put a new set of plug wires on (old wires were 4 years old and figured it was about time to replace them). Car is virtually maintenance free, safe and easy to drive. It needs absolutely nothing, I'm 6'4' and 230 lbs so the seat my need to be adjusted for a different driver but thats about it. Car street drives OK, will need better cooling fans to be street driven in hot weather but thats about it, its not a daily driver by any means but would be a fun weekend toy.

NO TRADES. I'll consider any cash offer but I wont respond to lowballs, the car is priced very fair. I'm not going to deal with shipping it, you want it, come and get it. I can deliver it a couple hundred miles but its not leaving my garage unless its paid for 100%, I encourage serious buyers to come and look and before they buy, the car has no liability insurance on it so there will be no street rides. If you want a car like this and you see it you will buy it. Car will come with the two sets of rear wheels and tires, the wiper parts, extra blower oil, 3.7 blower pulley, some misc little stock stuff if you want it and two sealed 5 gallon cans of C16.

Recent video of the last 1/8 and 1/4 mile passes, these were on the 275 drag radials and not the best track prep so a couple times it just blew the tires off, thats why I prefer using slicks but I was just experimenting with the radials a little.

I added up over 30K in parts alone, thats just the big stuff. Its practically brand new and you cant get any more turn-key. IMO its a steal at 20K. I have been putting cars together for 30 years and there is nothing hacked or rigged on the car, nothing is weird or custom made either. If something breaks/wears out just replace it and it will run the same. The last one I built similar to it was featured in quite a few magazines and I raced it for three years and never did anything but change the oil and rear tires and toss some plugs in occasionally.

I know times are tough and something like this has a narrow audience, I will probably end up parting it out which is kinda sad.

If I wasn't stuck with the '95 I would be all over this. Beautiful car and one heck of a deal. Good luck on this Kevin.

Man, looks like i was too slow. If it doesn't end up selling. I'll have everything together when spring comes around and will be buying another fast bird.
