Don't buy that car until you consider this one: Now that I have your attention!!! 
Clean 1998 Z28, black, ttops, automatic, loaded. It has around 59,000 miles, and the paint/interior are good to excellent.
It also includes many smog legal modifications (mild cam, head work, 2001 manifolds/cats, maf, lid, dynomax catback, FTRA, asp, yank SY3500 stall, tuning, 3.73s, and others), which make it pretty quick for a budget smog legal car (12.20s with the spare tire on board).

Hey Eric, I appreciate the offer. I'm pretty firm on the $9,750 price. You could easily sell off a lot of the mods and bring the effective price wayyy down. At $9,750 I'll also throw in a strut tower brace, the stock 3.42s, and a maf translator too.

Thanks Terry. I can maybe go as high as $8200... I'll see if I can scrounge around for some more dough. I'm just pretty broke because of my other car.... Let me know if you get desperate though!

Any dyno numbers?
Why are you selling?
Clean title? Any damage, scratches, dents, etc?
Whats the cam? Is it tuned? is the speedo correct?
How many passes?
is it smogged? You have to within 30 days in CA, Im sure you know...
How long have you owned, and why are you selling?
If you cant tell, Im interested...

I have lots of $8,500 offers, but I'm holding out for (a bit) more. This car is clean, super low miles, has 11 second potential, and is smog legal. Show me the money!!!

1998 z28 for sale that looks like an excellent car you are selling...i will be willing to maybe make a deal if you have not sold it within the next month or so...i am waiting on a legal settlement and i will be shopping for a car asap...what kind of cam is it and what kind of headwork does it have? is the car streetable? will it drive to texas? can you email me interior pics? thanks.
