Default FS: '88 Formula, "Magnum LQ4" PRICE REDUCED!!!

To start out, I don't want some punk telling me what THEY THINK my car is worth. I've got WELL over $11K invested in the car, with receipts for everything. Myself and BES_Stroked_Nova did ALL the work on the car, minus build the tranny, so I know most everything about the car.

You can look it up, this car was featured in GM High Tech Performance Magazine over a period of time from '00-'02 I believe, under the name "Magnum TPI." The car was sold as a roller, and converted for the LS1 before I got ahold of it.

I bought the car with a running, driving, LS1/T56 swap. Shortly after the cam swap, the car stretched a rod bolt or two (weak '98 bottom ends....).

As the car sits.....
Motor:
'04 LQ4 6.0 liter longblock with 27K miles (bought from Truck Parts Unlimited in May '07)
Katech rod bolts, all rod bearings inspected upon removal, looked PERFECT.
Texas Speed Torquer V2 Cam 232/234 duration, .595/.598 lift 112 LSA
TSP pushrods
Ported LS6 oil pump
Comp 918 valve springs
Rollmaster double roller timing chain
LS6 intake manifold
Jantzer ported TB
Aeromotive AFPR
Custom 3" intake tube/cone filter
Filled motor mounts
EGR/AIR deleted
off road y pipe
3" SLP "Two on the left" catback,
Flowtech cutout
DMH Electric cutout
Custom Speartech wiring harness
Tuned with EFILive! by Richie Kolb of BES.

I have a set of JBA coated shorty headers that could be included.

Trans:
Rebuilt T56
carbon kevlar synchros
Steel shift forks
forged gears 1-4
LS6 clutch/PP
Pro 5.0 Shifter
All has +/-10K miles on it

Rear:
9 bolt rear, 3.27's with rebuilt posi unit, +/-10K miles

Suspension:
Hotchkis panhard bar, sway bars, lower control arms, subframe connectors, lowering springs, ball joints, and tie rod ends.
Revalved Bilstein shocks.
Has Mesh GTA wheels with Firestone Firehawks up front with 75%+ tread, and BRAND NEW Kumho Ecsta AST's ou the back.

Body:
97K original miles
It has some spots, the doors have small surface rust in the bottoms as most third gens do, some slight cracking on the front bumper, literally ONE dime sized ding, and the paint on the roof has seen better days, but could proably be buffed.
The car shines when it's clean. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

Interior:
Fully restored red interior, ask anyone who's seen it, it's DAMN nice.
6 point weld in rollbar, with removable/swingout door bars.
Custom knurled shift ****
To be perfect, it'd need a headliner put in it. The carpet in the hatch area is slightly faded, but tolerable. Seats, and everything else, is perfect.

The car MOVES. The only time it's been driven hard with this motor (driven at all really) was during the tuning process. To give you an idea, with a 2.2 60', the car ran 13.1 @ 110MPH with a STOCK LS1 w/ 3.27 gears, on real street tires, and had a lot left in it then. This motor is FAR from a stock LS1.......

Since I've been asked more than once, NO, these photos are NOT photoshopped in any way shape or form. They were taken with a Nikon D40, so they just happen to look a little better than most normal picture. Also, ignore the weird black spot. It's not the car, it's something with my camera. It goes out for warranty work next week.

Unnatural light:

Price is set at $7,200 FIRM FIRM FIRM!

Thanks!

-Ian

*NOTICE!*
I will be in Nashville, TN with the car this weekend!

If you'd like to take a look, I can be reached at 513-616-6921.

Thanks!

-Ian

Trades will be considered for Pre-'72 GM Products only. Preferably a first gen Camaro, or '55-57 Bel Air/210/150. Cash can be added on for the proper trade.

Thanks!

Email sent to nedmorpwr by the way.

BUMP,BUMP I have been deployed since shortly after selling the car to you as I have been back inthe army. I did a little research when I got back, and was really sorry to hear what happened with the ls1. I am very happy to see what you have done with the car!

This car is worth every peny of what you are asking, I hated to get rid of this car, hell if you have it in a couple of weeks, I might just buy it back!

Thanks Chris! It's good to hear from you again.

The motor was disappointing at first, but it's a completely different animal with the 6.0 now! The body/interior are EXACTLY as you remember them. I've taken as good a care of it as I could anything.

If you want to work something out, let me know. The price is OBO.

Actually, now that I think about it, I'd trade for a 600CC streetbike and cash as well. Would prefer an R6 but will look at all models. Thanks!

That car has travelled. Started in New Jersey with GMHTP mag, then to Chicago, then to Texas (me) and now it is in Ohio!

Glad to see you got it finished up

BTW, that interior isn't original. It was 100% restored in one of the magazine articles, that is why it looks brand new.

since I watched you drive it away I wanted it back. I'm gathering the funds now, and if it sells before they are together, then someone is a lucky bastard!

You could say that. Even with having 3.27 gears in it, it still MOVES.

I really hate to say it, but it doesn't look like I will be able to get the money together. There has been a death in the family, and there is no way that I will be able to get it together for the car. It freakin kills me to tell you this, but good luck with the sale, and I hope like hell whoever gets the car will take as much pride in it as you and I have. On that note whoever gets this thing is a lucky bastard.
