I have a 1990 turbo II rx7 that was swapped to an ls6 bottom end with 241 heads/intake and a fully rebuilt t56 about 3-4k ago. The car has quite a bit in the way of modifications beyond just the swap.
Bushings have been changed out in favor of delrin/poly front and rear.
KTS adjustable coilovers
mmr diff bushings
goodridge brake lines
hawk pads
volk gram light wheels
falken azenis tires
autopower roll cage
re amemiya front bumber
10th ani edition interior with manual belts and all black
LS6 block, 241 heads, ls1 intake with:
trex cam
patriot gold duals
jtr 1 7/8th longtubes with 3" collectors to a y into 3.5 single exhaust
3.5" cold air intake that draws from bumper opening
msd plug wires
ngk tr55's
likley much more.
Should be good for low 11's high 10's as it sits and with some more comp. and a better intake I would think solidly in the 10's and still able to tear up a road course.
Looking for interesting trades. Sporty stuff, bikes.... you never know.
Some pics from the assembly can be seen here. Not exactly how it looks now but it'll give you an idea.

I drive it daily to and from work about 20 miles round trip and I'll take it out for 2 or 3 hours now and again on weekends for some backroad fun. I would say that with a halfass driver it'll run mid to low 11's in the 120+ range as it sits. With a few little items that don't add up to much solid 10's, hell on some mt's with a good driver it might do 10's now. It's quick, it weighs 2600-2700 and has a 4.11 rear and fairly short tires, it goes for sure. There are some things that I would redo/add if I keep it much longer but then again if I do those things I won't likely part with it
It's a great starting point and you won't find a more well rounded performer for less than this. Spend 2 grand on paint and intake mani/budget heads and you have a car that'll be a keeper.

The strongest of the rx7 diffs. The 4.11 out of a turboII.... just so happens this car comes with one. But this is the same diff that most 2nd and 3rd gen guys would look to upgrade to. Should be plenty strong as long as wheel hop is controlled.
