FS: 2000 Camaro Drag Car or trade for '05+ Corvette
Well, it was a hard decision to make, but I feel that it’s for the best. I pondered this for several months trying to decide if I should keep it or sell it. Truthfully, my schedule just doesn’t allow me/us to have a race car. I work from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, then 1-2 Saturdays out of the month I work from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm or later. So with the spare time that I have, I want to get out on Saturday nights with friends, which means come Sunday, I’m out for the count. I usually spend the day relaxing and resting for a new week come Monday. On the weekends that I don’t have Saturday to work, I spend the day cleaning, organizing, laundry, etc. So there’s really no time for racing. Then, if and when I do have the time, it’s either raining, the track is closed, or something else comes up. So given my/our situation, it’s just not worth keeping.
Anyhow, a lot of time, hard work, and money went into this car over the course of 6 years. This car started out completely stock and it used to be my daily driver. One mod led to another, to another, then I started removing weight, and next thing I know, we’re having to buy a trailer because we now have a race car on our hands. I absolutely love the car and hate to see it go, but the time has come. I rather hear/read/see someone else enjoy this car and put it to use, for what it was built for. We try to put the best of the best, or at least what our budget allowed for. The car is in tip top shape and the only thing that I can think of that it needs, is the hood painted, as it’s aftermarket.
The car weighs 2650 lbs. without a driver. It uses VP C12 leaded racing fuel, Valvoline VR1 20W50 racing engine oil, and NGK TR7 spark plugs. The converter was built for the old/cam only motor, so it’s another thing that would be a good idea to change/have reworked. Although, it runs extremely well the way it is. I haven’t had the time to get the car dialed back in and get the launches back where they used to be. I’ve only managed to cut a 1.39 60 ft. with the new setup compared to mid 1.3s all day with 170 hp less and a much milder setup. The car has gone a best of 9.85 standing on the brakes just before the 1000 ft. mark. If nothing else changed and I had made a complete pass, the car would have gone a 9.57 that run. The car is good for low 9s once the car is dialed in, hooks, and is on a well prepped track with good weather. Again, I haven’t had any seat time with the new setup, so I haven't been able to make the necessary adjustments to get it to hook. Optimum shift points are around 7600 rpms.
The car has over $40k in parts alone. This does not include labor, installation, fabrication, etc. I can't even imagine how much labor has gone into this car as this is not something you build over night. I don't even want to begin figuring/calculating the cost it would take to build a car like it. The car has 62k miles on it, but as you can see from the list below, hardly anything is stock. The motor has about 10 passes on it, so it's very much new.
The car has a price tag, but it is also up for trade. The only thing I'd consider trading at this point is a '05+ C6 Corvette, white, silver, or orange in color only.
If I don't find a buyer or the trade I want soon, I will have a huge part out, but that's a last resort.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I've edited the original post stating that the car is up for trade. The only thing I'd consider at this point is a '05+ C6 Corvette. If I don't find a buyer or the trade I'm looking for, then I will have a huge part out. I don't prefer to do that because that would require me tearing the car completely apart, but if that's what it comes down to, then I have no choice.
